How about cost? What is the quality of work? Were items like the mirrors, headlights etc removed to complete the wrap? What do the inside of the door jams look like? When you lift the bonnet/hood, can you see the old paint color? How about the inside of trunk...can you see the Gray paint along the inside of the rear quarters?

What type of guarantee did the wrapper provide, if any? Waht brand of wrap product did you use?

Photos can't show the real outcome of the wrap. It does look nice.

You always ask the questions that no one else, including me, has the brains to think of!!!!!

The thumbnails look good. Are those new wheels too or did you repaint the stockers?

Nice from far, lets see the close ups and details of the hood and trunk and other places as mentioned in an earlier post. I am keeping an open mind here, so please show the details. I got put in my place in a previous thread when I showed my apprehension and concerns about wrapping such a beautiful car. Please, prove me wrong.

Not my colour (old Goths never die, they just get darker...), but I like the white/black contrast, much more interesting and individual than all-over white. Unfortunately, I can't seem to click on the pix to get bigger versions.

It will be interesting to learn how well it lasts as time passes.

I want bigger photos!

Looks interesting. The black ties in with the convertible roof color.

I like the color combo a lot, can you show us some larger pictures of the door jams and around the front grill for example? thanks.

For starters NOBODY wraps the inside of the hood or trunk. As far as the wheel lips go they should be wrapped. Visually from 5 feet I bet it looks great but if your **** and start picking at it you will see the seam lines. I know of a couple companies here and considered have my Range Rover wrapped so I checked it out in detail. The one used 3M vinyl and had a 5 year warranty. Think exterior color change.... so no jams but still visually un noticeable to the common eye on the outside.

I love this board but you guys crack me up sometimes. Why NOT wrap your car..... if its done right its very easy way to change the color. I think it was like 3300 to do my RR but I found it as cheap as 2100, my RR is huge.... an XK would be even less here, not sure what XKR1 paid though. Heck I wont touch repainting a small car in my shop for less than 7000. If you want cheap you go to Maaco, if you want it right you spend more money which is true in the wrap world also.

My other point is its a simple way to fall in love with your car again, maybe Im not normal but I get bored with the color of my cars after a couple years..... so wrapping to me is a simple, quick, rather inexpensive solution. Then if your bored in a couple years remove it. What I have seen on vehicles with smaller wraps on them after accidents is we remove the wrap and the paint is like new so it really does protect it.

IMHO, I think the car looks great. Im not a huge fan of the black wheels but I personally don't like XK's in silver or grey..... I think they need color but again that's me. Lastly, Im not trying to insult anyone with my comments but just wanted to voice another opposite opinion.

Looks good from the thumbnails and I bet from the street you can't tell the difference. No doubt a paint job will go from $7K-$15K but that would be necessary if you wanted a color change to last. I didn't understand your logic as to why you wanted to do this as you could have purchased a white XK as they are a pretty available choice. When you said you like to change colors every several years it made sense so go for it. I guess I never got bored with a car color that I owned but that's what makes the world go around. Enjoy it and we can't wait in the next few years to see the next color change.

I can understand that, but what I was interested in, was how far into the hood and trunk did they place the wrap and how was in finally cut. I am sure once the hood and trunk lids are opened, you are hit right away with a major color change from White to Gray.

I never expected to see the car wrapped inside the hood or trunk.

Looks cool! Would love to see some up close pictures. Do you apply wax to the wrap or just leave as is?

I've seen some nice wrapped cars at the cruises I've attended. Although they look nice, I think, the $3-4K it costs, could buy me more happiness in other ways.
However, to each his own and I'll defend to your death that right.
Happy trails.....

Perhaps, the bonnet for 500 small ones.....my numbers were from a GTR guy whose ride was a total wrap.
If I wrapped any part, it would be the nose, tips of fenders, front valance, rockers, and fender dog legs. That's about it

Even half clear bra's are around $1,500 and that just covers the front and half the hood and maybe the mirrors.

A full clear wrap is about $3-5k, adding the door and trunk jams will add to it as well if you want them to remove the lights, body parts to make the wrap go around the edges.
