Jaguar reveals virtual windscreen concept
To me, both very cool and hugely distracting in a real car. On the track, I'd like heads-up shiftlight, oil temp, tire pressures would be nice... but that's about it.
Learning the line on a new track, I'd much rather run lead-follow for a session.
I hope manufacturers put more effort into video, high-res GPS, and telemetry options for track days...

I agree - I'd like a HUD with selectable options. I rely on GPS for speed info, so I don't really need that, but it would be useful for most drivers. RPM & shift light would be great, along with temps, pressures and any warnings or indicators (hi-beam, blinkers, fogs). DSC operation (if it's switched on) would be useful, would tell you if it was intervening/interfering in small ways that you might not notice.
Interesting, but the content seems inspired by video games more than real world practicality.
Is it just me or do others find it a little disconcerting that the "cones" appear on top of the lead car?

Anything on my windshield drives me nuts, even my Valentine 1 under the mirror drives me crazy.
How about giving us some gauges even if its a single selectable type that gives us our engines vital signs.
