Jaguar XKR 2007 Supercharger oil change
Hi all
I decided I would like to change the supercharger oil in my car. I bought a kit from powerhouse, oil and a syringe. I made an attempt but I had no space between the coolant hoses and the allen key bolt to replace the oil, matters were made worst with my big hands. I managed to crack the nut but I was unable to turn the bolt due to lack of space, I retightened the bolt and thought ill take the oil to the specialist I use when my next service is due in January. Anyone here sucessfully completed this task.

I outsource ;-)
But! As its an ‘07, preventative maintenance may be in order and the coolant lines that run under the supercharger could/should be replaced. If so, the supercharger needs to come off anyways. Its a good time to change the fluid then.
The second time we changed the fluid, it was done with the supercharger in place. The tech grumbled…. so the shop received a box of beer.

Just pull the intercooler hoses off on that side and you'll have sufficient room. Not bad at all.
Be sure to stuff a rag under the fill plug so if (when) you drop it, you can just pick it back up.

I bought the car in April this year and in January the previous owner had a service by jaguar who discovered a coolant leak. Jaguar replaced all the valley hoses then, for a cost of £1600.
so hoses have been replaced. But nothing to suggest they changed the oil in the SC.

Hi Mark,
I just did it 3 weeks ago.
I got big hands too but succeeded.
I had to shorten the small side of my allen key L so I had enough space .
Didn't took off the hoses as they were extremly tight fitted and didn't move at all when pulled. (the valley hoses were changed in 2019). I ended up litterally layed on the engine and worked this way.
That took me around 1 hour and a half, mostly because getting there was a pain and had to go slowly. To empty the oil to its max I used an electric wire sheath (some standard copper wire I took the copper off) that I taped to the larger tubing used from the syringe.. Draining till the deepest point of the supercharger was quite a pain and I asked for someone to help holding the thin "tube" in place inside the supercharger at the end while I was pulling the syringe.
But overall this doesn't require any skill. (be carefull with your back if you are sensitive there though) .
