Quicksilver sport exhaust
Ive been researching a new exhaust system for my XKR 150. I have spoken to a QuickSilver supplier near me and i am thinking of buying the system. I have fuse 19 pulled but it still sounds muted. The cost all in is £1800 fitted. I will keep the original system in my garage.
Anyone else fitted an aftermarket system?
Whats your thoughts?

You're going to get a stack of replies lol ..
first step have your mid pipe swapped out for x pipe , you'll be going from two resonators to no resonators and a x pipe .
This will essentially change the sound of your exhaust think of a higher pitch if still not loud enough look into having your cats replaced with high flow units (stock unit is two bricks in the one unit 400&600) so any upgrade will enhance the sound .
100s - very very loud & raspy
200s - loud & visceral
400s - refined & very rich sounding

Ive ordered the quicksilver sport. I will post before and after videos when the system is fitted in September. It takes 4-6 weeks for quicksilver to make these.
Here is a video Quicksilver have on the site, poor quality though. Jaguar XKR 4.2 Sport Exhaust (2006-09) - QuickSilver Exhausts

I had the Quicksilver sport fitted and after hitting a short stretch of motorway the car was full of awful droning. It sounded like a tractor with no exhaust.
I complained to the retailer and they test drove it and agreed it was bad. Quicksilver wanted to have the system back to investigate then send another, I said i have no confidence in the product and want a refund as its not as described.
The retailer is refitting my standars exhaust back on.
Awfull experiance.

Weighing in... as the others are wrong. ;-)
Hi flow cats, x pipe, leave the rear box alone.
I want to still be able to listen to music or have a conversation on long drives, so I put the fuse back in and "manage" when I want loud. I found the continual "loud", an annoyance.
Oops, @markva44 , just read your response. I like it. Too many cars on the road that are obnoxious. Thanks.

Had aftermarket (custom) exhaust, later modified OEM XKR muffler (opened the box to modify internals), now I'm on stock XKRS (with sport cats). Current is the most reasonable set for me.
Problem of topics like this is - one prefers dark cars, other light colors. You need to find what is your favorite setup.

I dont disagree they are a reputable company, reviews say it all. With my experiance, build quality was spot on, I was not impressed with the sound quality, it sounded awfull with lots of drone You couldnt talk or listen to the music, constant droning . The original exhaust is back on now. The retailer agreed it sounded bad and shipping it back to quicksilver. Maybe a one off bad build?
Hello-
I have the quicksilver. I also have a different pulley and tune. Sounds fantastic. Way better than stock. Quite subtle when not on the loud pedal. No droning. When WOT especially in tunnels or under overpasses it sounds terrifying from 2 counties away. I would definitely give an enthusiastic two thumbs up. My car now has 108k miles and has been driven very hard every chance I get. Quicksilver is also the choice of the Aston Martin race team and was the exhaust chosen for her majesty the Queen’s Mini. (God rest her car loving soul)

I can only imagine there must have been a build issue with the one I had fitted. I'm getting a refund from the retailer. Quicksilver said they will disassemble the boxes once they receive it back.
Honestly it was awful, not a little droning but ear hurting droning. I had the lower sounding sport system with x2 silen ers per bank, there is a supersport option with one silencer per bank.
I was very disappointed after waiting 5 weeks for build.
