Default Jaguar XKR-S in Geneva

Jaguar will be unveiling an uprated XKR in the form of an XKR-S. I think the 0-60 time might be a bit conservative. A bit too much for the doodads but overall very nice.

550 horsepower, 502 pound-feet of torque, a top-speed of 186 miles per hour and the ability to run from zero-to-60 miles per hour in just 4.2 seconds.

Thanks for the info. Car looks good....but not digging the rear wing (too ricey for me).....reminds me of the GTR. Looks good on a GTR but not on a Jag....IMO. If these pics are official...looks like it will have new headlights (LED DRLs?), come with headlight washers amongst other changes. Big jump compared to the 2008 XKR vs. XKR-S.

I have the Anniversary/Black Pack Bodykit coming but now I'm thinking upgrading to this front bumper, headlights and side skirts.....LOL. Looks like if you upgrade just the front bumper, you will need to upgrade the front fenders too as it's alittle different shape to accomadate the new headlights. Also, where it joins the front bumper is a different shape than the '07-'11 fenders.

Here's additional photos to the OP post:

Personally I think they have too much going on at the front end. I like the new head lamps, washers and vents at the front edge of the bonnet but I can do without all of the vents in front of the wheels. I think the vents behind the front wheels looks a bit too much like Aston's. The GTR fascia is not quite what I would expect.I always liked the fact that Aston's were horizontal and Jaguar's were vertical. The rear spoiler may work, I think they are trying to nudge into the 911 Turbo territory here. The rear difusser actually look better than the current.

This car will definitely do 0-60 in under 4 secs!

Have to agree with my friend with the 997TT. Without AWD......he thinks the best for the XKR-S would be 3.7-3.9 sec to 0-60MPH. He points out the mighty ZR1 with 638HP and about 500 lbs lighter than the XKR has a 0-60MPH time of 3.5 sec while the awd 911 Turbo S can hit 0-60MPH in 2.6 sec.

I hope he's wrong though!

Jaguar should next look into dual clutch, launch control and carbon fiber pieces looking forward.

It looks like the liftback doesn't curve out as much at the back as well.

I kind of like it - but I think it would look better in Asbo orange.

Are the side sills wider on this car? I thought about getting the sills from the current XRS-S but they look a bit to "tacked on" for me. I need to see them on a car in person before I make my final decision.

Here is another shot of the new XKR-S.....it looks absolutely horrible! WTF are they thinking? Hopefully this is just an exercise in design language.

Are they serious? One giant step backwards, IMHO. I consider my XKR to be a work of art; a rolling sculpture with obvious design lineage to the legendary XKE. All the boy-racer scoops, wings, and other stick-on doodads detract from the flowing lines and simplicity that make the XKR the beauty that it is. If I wanted scoops, I would have bought a Saleen. Or a Baskin-Robins. So what's next? 24" dubs? Less is more.

The rear of the car looks pretty good to me. The spoiler does not look "ricer" but it does look more purposeful!

The XKR-S still maintains its attractive profile. I am not surprised that they did away with the side sills from the previous XKR-S. The verdict is still out on those as far as I am concerned.

Now to the bad part! What in the world is Ian Callum thinking? The lights look great and even the vents at the leading edge of the hood work well but the rest looks like pure garbage!

*** EDIT*** YOU BEAT ME TO IT ON THE PICS...LOL

Here are more pics from the Geneva Autoshow. The front end....imo...looks down right evil. The rear spoiler isn't as big as I thought....a'la the Viper ACR. I like how they eliminated the side louvers. I kinda like it....must be from my ricer days when I had a Supra Turbo.

I knew I had seen that "face" before!

NOT a fan. Too busy, with too many intersecting lines, bulges, and curves; & the tail looks like it was sourced from a Ford Escort!

I hope this is just the S version!
If not, once again, a car company has "killed" an attractive design - echos of Chris Bangle's bungle...

So the question is that LED strip from the eyebrows down to the side of the headlight or did Jaguar not add LED DRLs again?

The indents at the sides and below the grill make it look like a fish. Get rid of that and it looks fine.

looks better here cause you can't see it.

Yeah not a fan of that one. The XKR is a grown ups GT, not a fast and furious Nissan lookalike! Hahaha

If you remove the gills on the side of the front bumper(they appear to be removable) then it might dramatically improve the looks of the front end. As for the rear spoiler, I kinda like it.

@doctock993- please post a pic of a Ford Escort that has a spoiler resembling the one on the XKR-S! Let's be fair, it's no worse than that of a Porsche GT3 or a Lambo.
