Jaguars new 5.0 and Fords new 5.0

So Jaguar developed a great new 5.0 and then just over a year later, Ford come out with their 5.0.

I wonder if there was any development pre-Tata by Ford? Does anybody know if this is so?

 

I dont think they are the same.

The Jag has a bore of 92.5mm and stroke of 93mm
While the Ford has a bore of 92.2mm and a stroke of 92.7mm

I could be wrong though

 

That difference could be down to type of sleeve, con rod etc. But I do wonder!!!!
