JagWrangler's Convertible Control
I fitted one of these a couple of summers ago. It is impressive and works well.
However, either it is now misbehaving, or I have just found something I did not know.
When locking the car with the hood (convertible top) up, I use the security lock with two presses on the fob button. Everything still works as it should and always has.
However, when I came to the car the other morning, the two rear quarter lights were open before I unlocked it or pressed any fob button. Unfortunately, the car lives outside all the time, but I was lucky it had not rained the previous night. I unlocked the car as normal, gave three upward pulls to the left-hand window control, and the quarter lights shut.
Experiments since have shown that if I leave the car and press the lock button on the fob three times, it locks the car and then opens the quarter lights!
This doesn't seem right, but has it always done it? I don't know, but I guess not.
I would welcome advice from anyone, and hopefully from the JagWrangler, who I cannot seem to contact directly.
As an aside, how can I send a PM to a member?
Thanks for your help

I had a similar experience, not sure of what buttons I pressed. I don't use the remote operation much, but I like the one press inside to open/close without having to keep my hand on the button.
@WhiteXKR is Steve's screen name. I just "tagged" him and he will be notified of this thread.

Steve designed his controller for US-market models. Under US law, double-locking is illegal because it prevents the doors from being opened from the inside, which can prevent a child from escaping a hot car. The double-beep we Yanks hear when we try to double-lock our cars is an error message, not a confirmation that the car is double-locked.
I believe that your remote top control is operating as designed. Double locking was intended to prevent a car thief from opening the door by smashing a side window, reaching in, and pulling the inside handle. It's better to lose a car and save a child.

First thing for EVERY problem.........
CHECK YOUR BATTERY VOLTAGE!!!
It HAS to be 12.6 volts or higher after sitting for many hours. If not, deep charge it to see what happens or replace it!

What I do know is that erratic operation of various vehicle systems can occur if the front windows lose their memory setting and/or the battery is low. I suggest resetting both front windows per the owner's manual or the many posts on the forum. I always recommend repeating the reset procedure several times in a row. If this does correct the problem your 12v battery may be low or on its way out.
If the problem remains unsolved; one solution is to switch to operating the top with the keyfob headlight button and one press of the lock button instead of 3 presses. (This will only work on models through 2010 in the UK (2011 in the US).

Also thinking it’s the battery.
If my car’s battery is low, pressing the remote lock 3 times results in:
1. Top closes
2. Quarter windows close
3. Front windows start to close
4. Driver window completes its close
5. Passenger window (right side of LHD car) goes up half way and then retreats to the open position
Edit: Ignore me, Steve responded while I was still typing
