Default Jump Starting an XK

My 2008 XK convertible has a dead battery and I'm trying to figure out how to jump start it. I'm looking at the instructions in the manual. It tells me to connect the positive terminal to a connection on the lect side trunk panel. I've opened the panel and think I see the connection but it is not labeled. I would have expected some label or a red rubber cover over the area. I've attached a pic. Is the black rubber cover where the positive batter connection goes to jump?

Then where do I find the negative connection? The manual says to access the spare wheel stowage area and remove the protective cap from the negative terminal. Where is it? I've taken everything out (including the wheel) and don't see it. Attached is another pic.

Lastly, I've attached a pic of 2 misc pieces I found in the trunk. Any idea what these are for?

Yes, the positive connection is behind the panel at the left rear of the trunk and is covered with a black rubber insulator. Obviously you have to be careful that you don't short it out when you attach a clip to it.
The negative is just a bolt on the floor of the trunk. Mine didn't have any sort of insulation on it. You could of course use anything that connected to the bodywork and eventually back to the battery.

For the future add a 2 wire (+ & -) connector directly to the battery that is long enough to lay in truck. This allows easy connection for a charger................which is a must for
every late model Jag!!

Let's face it - Jaguar could easily fit a fused socket in the trunk. It would cost them very little and solve a lot of people's problems.
