Pinstripe!!! That looks sick dude. I think it brings out an additional "wow" look at least to me. I'm sure some of the older guys won't be a fan but I love that look. Doesn't look cheesy either.

Cheers. Mike

Like! (and I'm also an old guy!) As I see it the pin stripes are on the outside perimeter of the wheels and not on the tire. Correct?

Also, food for thought.... Buddy of mine has stripes on his rim that are simply too wide (about 3/8 inch to 1/2 inch).... The thought and color works (black car, black rims, red stripe), but the stripe is overpowering at that width. He is looking into getting the rim retouched down to 1/4 inch.
Sad that it didnt work for him from the box.....

Being that you are staying the same color as the car, it may not matter, but his experiance showed me something new to watch out for.

I take that back, I am liking it now. Since the car is so sporty looking, the stripe works.

Its a personel choice in the end. Looks cool either way.

Sorry, I don't care for it. I don't really care for black wheels (reminds me of all the BMWs around here with a coating of brake dust on the wheels) either, but I am an "old guy' so take that into consideration. I'm sort of a "purist" with Jaguars as opposed to some other brands. That is not to say that I don't like any modifications I see here. I very much like the ones C- J made to the rear valance panel on his silver XK along with is black grille. I have entered quite a few local Jaguar concours events so you know what that means as far as modifications go.

Like either way. How did you paint your rims (powder coated or plasti dip)?

Default Alternative to Pinstriping Wheels - Rim Ringz (tm)

When I came across this product I thought it was interesting that their website featured a 4.2L XKR with 20" Senta wheels. I think the Salsa red XKR looks great with their Rim Ringz.

Their product is a plastic ring that installs between the rim and the tire, in sizes to fit wheels from 15" to 20". They claim to enhance the look of your car, protect rims from curb rash, and conceal existing curb rash. If you're thinking about pinstriping your wheels, you might want to consider this alternative. Price for a set of 4 ranges from $80 (15") to $90 (20"). Their website has lots of info - faqs, installation instructions, etc. Here's the link: Home | Car accessory that adds flare, protects tire / wheel / rim and covers curb damage | RIM RINGZ tm

Without and with:

I'm thinking about getting a set to conceal some minor curb rash. Red is a little too flashy for my taste. I'm not sure if black or silver would be best, so I emailed them for samples. I'll let you know what I think.

What do you think?

On second thought, maybe red Rim Ringz would work with my red calipers and center caps. What do you think?

Too flashy or too cool?

I was always in favor of clear contrasts so, I like the idea.

I'm going to see what color ring I could come up to go with my black car and its silver wheels. Thanks for posting.

I would assume that this product interferes with the airtight seal between the rim and tire.

Probably less than the old style lead wheel weights, that were inserted between the rim and the tire, would interfere with the seal.

Stripe is cool, go for it. If you get tired of it or the fad passes you can always remove it.

I red striped my black wheels on green car, everyone seems to like and removable when preferred. As always a personal choice.

If it was such a great idea, the best car designers in the World would have put them on as standard and all the concept cars that we see.

They look awful and will remain tasteful in a handful of people eyes. Yes on a cheap 18 year old kids Toyota, no on a car like a Jaguar.
