Default Just saw a Fisker Karma... WOW!

Forgive the off topic post; the thing did have a bit of Jag/Aston lines in it so I thought I'd share some thoughts.

Gotta say, that is one S E X Y ride. Unreal lines. I saw it from the rear, 3/4 view from a distance as I walked towards it (and my XKR which was parked 10' past it).

First I was sure it was something exotic, and a 2-door. Crazy lines! Then I though, maybe a super modded new Corvette or something. Then I noticed... TWO DOORS! And the solar panel roof. Then it clicked. Fisker Karma, black.

I must say, regardless of the high price, the instability of the brand, and the tepid performance (compared to the Tesla for example), I have not seen many cars as bodacious looking. To say nothing about the fact that it is a FOUR DOOR!

Really has to be seen 'in the flesh' to appreciate. The thing is big, wide, low, and super aggressive looking. Wild and extreme, larger than life, like a prototype pulled off of the show circuit! Amazing.

I was thrown for a loop seeing that they retail for ~$100k but that there is a low mileage 2012 on eBay for ~$50k. Suggests some serious trouble, either with the car itself or as a reflection of the company going under and leaving owners having to figure out how to get a crazy complex machine fixed with no dealer network and (maybe even) limited replacement parts.

But based on the looks and crazy beautiful interior alone, if I had a big garage I'd scoop one up as a collector car with the hope that the company survives (in which case I'd drive it) or doesn't (in which case I'd drive it extremely infrequently and consider it an investment/toy)... You just don't see cars that radical often, let alone a sedan. I was seduced, there's no other word for it. Been considering buying a Tesla as a daily driver. The Tesla is a looker. But compared to the Karma, forget about it.

Made approaching my beloved 2011 black XKR coupe a bit less exciting than usual, I hate to admit

Anyone seen one of these things up close, let alone own/ride in one? I'm aware of all the flaws. But beauty makes one overlook many shortcomings, does it not? My dating history reflects this fact anyway...

They are cool looking cars, but are fairly common where I live ( I'll see a Karma or 2 most days). Then again, here in SoCal, you will see no less than 3 tesla model S cars every day (not exaggerating !).

Jag dealer in Huntsville sells them. Well, has them. Not sure about the actual selling part.

A new DeLorean?
Never seen or heard of one, had to "google" it.

I have seen a couple around in ATL.

Since the American taxpayers funded the development of this car I think we should all get one.

It is a good looking car...

Default Fisker

I was in one in Vancouver last September. The outside is indeed quite beautiful. The interior is, frankly, weird - especially the reclaimed wood that looks exactly like...reclaimed wood. Cramped and odd in every way.

Rodney,

Beware... you might not want what you wish for! After all, the Fisker is just like our government - sometimes it works, and... well, you know the rest.

You got that right. Frankly I'd rather drive a German car than a gov't cheese car.
