Default Keyless entry?

I would like to have keyless entry on my car but I cant innitiate it!
When I'm in the menu for it there are three options for keyless entry but when I push ON on any of them they go back to OFF right away? I had a Foxwell diagnostic tool on the car and it said Keyless entry module is fine.

When I turn off my traction control and it turns itself on right away it's an indicator of a not fully charged battery. I put it on the battery tender and a day later all is well. Maybe this is your issue? Maybe not! My two cents.

Charged til today but still the same!:-(

When fully charged it showed 12,76v
Turned the ignition on and tried to initiate the keyless mode, fiddled around for maybe 5-10 minutes and then turned ignition off. Checked the battery voltage and it showed 12,1v.

Should a good battery hold 12,5v right after ignition off or do they drop a little? Cause after ignition off it takes a good while before all modules and light go off.

I was told by an SA at Crown Jaguar in St. Pete that if you turn the ignition off and lock the door, modules stay on for 15 minutes or so. If you hit the lock button twice, you'll hear an audible beep and all those modules will turn off. He also said not to leave the key fob near the car or the modules will stay on. I'm thinking people only hitting the lock button once is the cause of a lot of run down batteries.

A member on another forum asked if I had the small black rubbers on the doorhandle and I don't. He said early cars did't have that option.
Why I have the keyless entry mode in the menu could maybe have been done by the workshop( not a jaguar dealer) that updated the software. The previous owner told me it had been updated last year but he didn't know what.

Now I know why it doesn't work and I have one concern less!:-D

Thanks for the tip on double locking so the computer/modules go to sleep earlier.:-)

Interesting. What is the build date of your car? (On the label on the driver's side door jamb)

If you can discern the VIN then you can go to Topix and insert the VIN where called for and get copy of the build sheet for your vehicle. That may tell you whether you have remote entry or not. The build date is on a label on the left door jamb along with the color and trim codes. If it hasn't been removed it should be easy to find.

Tried it but didn't find my car!
Probably only for US cars so tried an European site and it found my car but it didn't show the spec on the car.

Too bad! Try Jaguar Sweden, Scandinavia or Jaguar Europe. Maybe you can a build sheet there or at least get an answer as to the remote door opening feature.
