There are a bunch. Evidently a LOT of people don't like that gaping maw.

"[Tokuo Fukuichi (global chief of Lexus)] remains philosophical about his bold design.
'I had nothing to lose except my life,' he said. 'I was ready to quit any time and retire if it didn't work.'"
Too bad he didn't retire before pushing that ugly face.
Here's another attempt to 'hide' it:

I'd like to see some total 'spindle' replacement options, to reshape that face, i.e. 'plastic surgery'.

I really like the front of this car from videos/pictures. I suppose it is because I design complicated optics where I have to maximize cost/efficiency by making designs that with a single shape light passes through multiple times; and the lack of a multitude of elements, but instead a complex shape of a major single center element is similar to some of my out of sight tucked away, yet functional work.
I also really liked the LFA, which I have seen in person. However, the LFA from the rear ends up with too many elements that do not flow as well. Overall I think this new car is more beautiful. If only the V10 of the LFA made it to production.

Most photos are taken from the ground up which makes the grille look huge. In reality, you'd only get that view if you were about to be run over by the car. From an average viewing height, you dont really notice the whole of the grille as the car is quite low.
IMO the front is quite nice, it is the back that needs surgery.

mosesbotbol,
That's what makes the world go 'round, everyone has differing tastes. I think the LFA's styling is abysmal, and the little curly Q body piece that juts out over the glass behind the side windows is just a joke. This was a $500,000 car when new as I recall. Would you rather have it or the $145,000 Ford GT, looks wise? Or any Ferrari in that price range? Now compared to every ugly Lambo, you may have a point!

The Ford GT (totally love) is a different type of car and I would probably take a front engine Ferrari or Aston of similar price if I had the choice for a front engine car... Would really need see them side-by-side and take them for a spin before writing that check. LFA has the best sounding engine. Lexus dealer is closest to my house FWIW. Dealer location has played a major part in the cars I have owned. Lamborghini styling is trying too hard and I saw newish one over the weekend at a Cars & Coffee at the local Ferrari dealer. I was taken back by the plastic trim inside the car; not what I'd demand of a $200k+ car.

Age and mindset has much to do with what we find acceptable.
Its like music if you were not exposed to something by your 20's- you will find it unacceptable (different from not liking it)
Lexus has clearly made the choice to pursue the adolescents. The LFA interior was designed by some of the top video game designers. And indeed the feel is that of a video game.
It is heartwarming from one perspective; they are no longer just making products just for Western desires. They feel confident that they can drive western demand by expressing theirs. The pendulum has swung the other way.
The LFA and LC500 is entirely familiar to anyone who has lived in the video game world. Subsequently- 70% of under 34 year olds have never had sex in Japan.
Please before you snicker, if you remove sex from the equation, the design criteria for outwardly impressions is turned on its head.
