Had this myself.

There is an earth from the light to the wheel arch which gets corroded. Try drilling a new hole and use and small bolt to renew the earthing. Should do the trick.

I'm new to using forums and new to Jag. But have an 07 xkr with the left headlight stuck all the way left and I don't understand what you are advising in this chain. I'm not very proficient with mechanics but can figure things our pretty well. Any chance you can provide more information?

Thanks!

They wouild say that wouldn't they!

I didn't do the job myself but took it to an independant Jaguar specialist.

Apparently the front headlight is earthed by a wire which is rivited or bolted or in some way fixed to the metal of the wheel arch.

I was told that they removed the wheel arch lining whereapon the earthing fixture become apparent at the front near wher the light will be on the opposite side of the wheel arch.
You could try cleaning this connection but I was told it is easier to drill another small hole and fix the earth with a new, small bolt.

Job done.

changing the light unit is VERY easy (just 3 screws).. but trick is getting a unit that actually works and fits your car.. .. I had the same problem on mine just a few weeks back.. get the report from the garage about the error code.. mine was (B1664-01 : Left healamp swivelling motor circuit) .. which caused my light to be fixated on 30 degrees right..

I had the whole unit replaced for a mere 2000USD with a genuine Jaguar Dealer after trying myself.. but you can replace the external units, you can replace the lightbulps.. but to get to the actual Servo's that rotate the lenses inside the unit, you have to 'bake' it in the oven just to get the glass separated from the plastic back cover..
