So I let her breath a little on the highway this morning and she started to disrobe left hood vent flew out bounced of the windshield and disappeared in the rear view mirror.
Any body go any good leads on new / after market ones?
You didn't stop and pick up the pieces? Happened to me with a tackle box many years ago. By the time I got back to it some old geezer was loading it into his rusty Astrovan...

I am in the process of installing the Factory Accessory Hood Louvers with Chrome Strake (C2P20035xxx) on my SILVER 2010. As soon as I finish I will give you the one you are missing.
I should have them out by the end of next week, I am waiting to get back the trim rings( that are normally painted to match) from the electroplater since I wanted those to be chrome also.
It also may be just a wake up call from your XKR because it wants those cool vents also. Not really a bad deal for $227 for the pair and the quality is thru the roof compared to the originals.
The Mina carbon ones look pretty flash and the contrast on the silver car looks great (I had them on mine). Shame that yours came off, I had to pull mine out and they were clipped in really well
Thanks 10XKR I'll take you up on that PM me and we can work out how I pay you for shipping at least.
I agree I think she wants the some pretty ones. I'd love to see a pic of yours when there on.
I thought the Mina ones look good too the contrast of black and silver (I have black rims).
You are very welcome, glad to help. Here is the best pic I could find that is close to our silver, appears to be lunar. It has the trim rings painted to match.
and one of a black XK..
For me the black grille part of the louver is just enough of a contrast and it ties in with my black pack grilles on my silver.
My guess is that at some point in it's life someone removed those to install different ones and when they put it back to stock they broke some of the original clips. IIRC they are originally also stuck on with 2 sided tape as well as the clips.
Unless Andy is the original owner, then someone at the factory messed up.
Worth adding to a check list, I'm the second owner so certainly possible a PO had them off. No sign of tape or adhesive
Not 240 but fast enough not to say in public

Did you had to wrestle it away from the old geezer?
Chrome vents on the bonnet, hope you never drive into the sunrise or sunset!
I'm tall and can barely see the back edge of the vent. I don't think chrome would be an issue

No, I was heading North coming past the scene and my tackle bag was heading South in the old guys arms. Boat was on the back of my Ranchero and I needed to do a double ramp U turn to head South again. Bummer because it had a bunch of my nicer Rapala lures in it. $200 or so lost because I didn't strap them down before hitting the interstate to pick up a friend.

Reminds me of my college days visiting a couple of buddies who transferred to Texas A&M to complete their degrees. They became good friends with a dude - we'll call him DJ - who took possession of a brand new Trans Am while I was in College Station. We spent the afternoon partying at a lake somewhere near there, and on the way home, DJ was complaining about an annoying rattle in the T-Top on the driver's side.
Without really thinking it through, DJ reached up and loosened the handle, which temporarily stopped the rattle. And then - in verrrrry slow motion - the entire driver's side glass T-Top began to rise above the passenger compartment, then flipped into the sixty MPH air stream and went tumbling gracefully through the air. It seemed like it hung there forever, but eventually T-Top met pavement, and the the glass exploded into a thousand tiny square shards. We turned around to retrieve the fallen cart part, which now consisted of the outer latch and a mutilated glass frame outline, and tossed it in the trunk.
My FAVORITE part of the story was DJ recanting the call back from his insurance agent: "Jim, I've looked at your entire policy front to back, and basically a piece of your car fell off ... and you're not covered for that."
