Default Linking steering wheel controls with carkit

I've a jaguar xk8 2010 convertible. The phone controls, navigation, and music options are limited not to say outdated. I would like to build in a modern carkit like the Parrot Mki 9200 which would allow streaming music, calling with voice-control. Furthermore I would mount the iphone somewhere next to the wheel so I can use it for navigation. However with such a luxury car I think it’s a shame to have separate controls and display. My question:

Are there any experiences with getting a parrot or other system to connect with the Jaguar steering wheel controls?
I would leave the display out or hide it in the ashtray. Any experiences with getting caller id in the jag display ?
Any other tips on hardware for streaming music from iPhone to Jag (spottily)?
Tips on where and how to make a nice iphone mount that also charges?
Do you prefer the microphone from the Jaguar or a modern handsfree built in kit?

Thank you very much!
