Locking Car/Arming Alarm - no sound
Good Morning!
I apologize in advance if I missed a thread on this but I couldn't find anything specific to my issue in this forum or in the owner's manual.
When locking my car I only get a flash of the parking lights and the mirrors fold in (I have this programmed). In order to confirm locking I have to look at the car. I'd prefer to hear a chirp or horn to confirm locking, especially if I'm in a parking lot and am walking away from the vehicle. A second press of the lock button on the remote does nothing, unlike a previous car I had that set off a beep of the horn to confirm locking.
Is this something that has to be programmed by a dealer or can I set this? I'm 99% sure this is legal/ok in my area (New Jersey).
Thanks!

No screaming. Is the alarm speaker located under the hood near/on the firewall?
Years ago, my sounder stopped working and was replaced under warranty. Yours may be as dead as mine was. If you're a DIYer, here's how to replace it:
