Default Looking at a 2009 XKR

I’m looking at a 2009 XKR with 62k miles. It has just had all control arms, tie rods and sway bar links replaced.
All rotors and pads replaced.
Does this seem extreme or standard wear for this mileage?
Allso new AC compressor.
Thanks for your input.

Suspension parts fail due to age, and that car is sixteen years old. Totally normal.
Rotors and pads probably twice by that mileage, if not more often.
AC compressors fail, sometimes from non-use.
All normal. Still more to do, due to mileage alone.

Sounds like it's well taken care of...

Most need replacement after you buy it!!

Coupe or convertible? Colors? Trim? Options? Original paint? Mods? Asking price?

This should help you ...

Recent sales on Bring a Trailer:
https://bringatrailer.com/jaguar/xk/

Coupes:
Prices can range from $13,000 for higher-mileage examples to around $25,000 for well-maintained, low-mileage cars.

Convertibles:
Expect similar price ranges to the coupes, potentially with a slight premium for convertibles. When the top goes down, the price goes up!

Special Editions:
The 2008 and 2009 4.2L XKR Portfolio Edition models might command a higher price due to their rarity and unique features. They are models, not a package of options.

Similarly, 5.0L XKR-S and XKR-S GT models are rare with up to 575 HP.

Seller and I are apart $1500 on his 2008 portfolio conv.
should be able to make it happen.
Just wish it had less than 84k miles.
That said he did all the big hit maint in the past 2 years.

@Stuart S
what’s more rare to your knowledge for the portfolios, wood grain or spun aluminum?

$1500... if you're quivering over that, I'm afraid you are in for a big surprise when you take her in for her first inspection.
Truly, maintenance costs are significant. Of course I only use OE parts... And outsource to the professionals.

Not really quibbling. I set a budget and am pretty strict on myself that way.
He and I have been chatting it up all weekend.
For me there will be a balance between DIY and Indy shop. As well as parts.
Like I’ll do my own oil changes, but I’ll use the “purple-something” oil he has been using.

Im prepared for the maintenance costs. Just keeping a starting budget.

Have you seen it in person? If it's a flawless example, doesn't need routine maintenance, might be worth negotiating the $1500...

I've seen more aluminum than wood though I've seen a few with the oak option (often times though the edge of the wood fades especially in convertibles.

Have the valley of hoses under the supercharger be replaced? When does that need to get done?

Stuart, premium on the verts? On BAT, seems like the coupes bring more.

Weird, I see a slight bump in verts over coupes lately.
But I’ve only been looking for a while.

Just for price comparison. On Craig's SF, there's an 09 XKR Portfolio Coupe for 17k. Has 84k. National retailer (location?), car looks scruffy, filthy engine compartment. Hope you can get your price on that perfect XKR.

It’s a great price already. I’m just being a schmuck.
$21.5 at 84k pampered miles.
All big stuff done, including trans, SC and suspension.
All in last 2 years.
I’ll most likely cave a bit. Already priced a flight up, mapped the drive back including cool stops.
Prepped the garage. Earmarked a jack and ramps at harbor freight. Lol.

My beefs are small. Doesn’t have original manual all that stuff one wants with a collectible car.

You’re not far from 100,000 miles on a Jaguar. I don’t think you are being particular. Check this car out carefully. Most higher mileage cars are way less but probably in need of much. Regardless our cars can require expensive repairs. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

No manual came with mine either, but the dealer did download and print it and send it to me in a binder. I subsequently bought the real books and leather cover on eBay.

Actually, I think that price is too high. The Portfolio trim option doesn't make it worth any more considering how old it is. I'd hold out for lower miles or really, a newer one. At 15 years old, be prepared for spending money on other things than maintenance, for several years now this generation of X150s has seen the TSD fail.
