2. Adaptive Cruise Control for $2,200, which is evidenced by two rotary controls on the right side of the steering wheel.
Adaptive Cruise Control was also available on non-Portfolio XK and XKR models.
The one I’m looking at has both.
(see pics)
As well as dealer option black wheels.
And the spun aluminum interior which I prefer.
Ironically he just got back to me and will meet me where I am on price, it seems.
Actually, I think that price is too high. The Portfolio trim option doesn't make it worth any more considering how old it is. I'd hold out for lower miles or really, a newer one. At 15 years old, be prepared for spending money on other things than maintenance, for several years now this generation of X150s has seen the TSD fail.
I appreciate you always looking out for me @jahummer during my long journey in searching for my first XK.
The honest reality for me is, after driving both the XK and XKR versions of the 5.0 and 4.2 models, this is a really good fit for my first and for what I want to spend.
A <50k mile example will not be in my wheelhouse for a while, at least from what I’ve seen, especially lately with used car prices going up since around April/May.
The seller and I have mutual acquaintances and is trustworthy. Has a lot of records and did all the heavy lifting maint over the past 2 years.
I plan on redoing the head unit, probably Mr12volt, so not concerned as much with the TSD.
(Touch screen display I presume?)
Going to add the compact spare similar to what @Stuart S did as well as the dead pedal.
I’ll put at most 3k miles a year on her, so she will be under 100k for quite some time.
I notice on your picture from above that the seat covers seem to have been replaced. The stitching on the top-back of the driver seat is really quite poor. Certainly not even close to what Jaguar provided. Maybe just from a lot of use, but it is not pretty.

Everything else looks fine (cover is a minor adjustment), it's just the poor quality driver seat that's out of place. It's even more noticeable in the overall picture.
I'm certainly not ragging YOU for any reason, but the more you are aware of pre-purchase means more bargaining power.

I know.
Which is why I sent the expanded photo.
i value yours and others’ opinions.
if this goes through, I’m going to have a ton of questions.
But will have an LLM scan the forums first.
Ive read the majority of the threads in x150 section, which means it all got overwhelming and I’ve forgotten more than I retained.
hands on will fix that.
Outside of a windscreen, my first order of business is finding an Indy shop near me with the SDD software and experience, getting a thorough once-over and building a rapport.
Second order of business will be sorting out getting phone audio through the speakers.
It has the phone call BT, but not the iPod adapter. So I’d guess it will be a fun journey.
I mostly do podcasts, so not as worried about constantly looking at my phone. Plenty of good threads on that, so I will decide. For now, 89.9 FM.

We are 99% of the way there. Arrived at $19.5 (he was at $21.5).
Cleared with the reluctant wife. She landed at “This is for you, I just still think we should wait a bit”.
Works for me.
Just trying to find a weekend to fly up and drive back.
The good news is I found a local Indy shop that has the jlr SDD software and only works on Jag and LR.
So I did some poking around for a jag place to do a PPI.
turns out, per carfax, the place he uses for maintenance is by far the best place in town.
is it weird to use the seller’s shop for a PPI?
yes, I tried that in Houston some years back, the shop was responsive but a bit vague.
I should have taken heed but was hot to get it.
Went to pick it up and the gods were with me, the owner took it out for a 'warm up' and it dropped a valve.
No sale but he did scam me for the deposit!

I’m in the process of buying the XKR
price is $23k which is more than I offered but I was sent the list of work being done for the sale.
6 control arms
tie rods and sway bars
4 rotors and pads
4 tires and alignment
new battery
new AC compressor
Clean condition inside and out
Hopefully no other expensive maintenance for a while.
There is a 40k Portfolio asking $25k in Chicago.

What year is the car? Is a Jaguar dealer doing the work? Is it nearby so that whatever work being done will be covered by their assumed 12/month 12,000 miles warranty for the work being done? That's alot of work being done on a car that is over $20,000. You just want a quality job with all OEM parts and making sure it all comes out right! Good luck.
I disagree. I decided to not use OEM parts to replace all of the OEM front and rear bushings because my OEM rubber didn't hold up and OEM replacements weren't worth the exorbitant cost. Available OEM parts have been sitting in warehouses for many years dry rotting.
My cost was $1,195 delivered, plus tax. Although the price has gone up a bit, it's still a bargain compared to buying all OEM replacement parts. My indie mechanic said everything fit with no problems. My XKR now rides and drives like it was brand new.
Our suspension parts were defective from the get go and why would they be trusted after perishing at production? Of course defective parts should be avoided even if OEM. The manufacturers are far from perfect. However , many other Oems are usually the safest way to go.

It is a 2009. The work is being done by a reputable Garage.
The Invoice for the work was just over $10k.
That would make the car value approx $13k

FWIW, by comparison, the cost to replace my front and rear suspension was $1,195 for parts plus $1,989 for labor, for a total of $3,184 plus tax. My indie tech's labor rate is $130/hour. That's about 1/3 of the cost from Reputable Garage. I suspect that their parts were much more expensive.
