Default Looking to buy a XKR 2007, need a little help..

Hi, after driving a whole bunch of German sports cars over the last 20 years it is now time for change... But as well informed as I am regarding all the 911 models, pros and cons, possible problems ect ect, I actually have very little clue when it comes to the xkr/xk..

All I know is that I love the design, the engine and the more relaxed cruising mode it has compare to its rivals... So my main questions...

A must for me is the following

Black, with black interior, no wood
Or dark gray with black interior, no wood

Sports suspension mode setting, if at all possible?.

Apart from that the model is just beautiful, no need to upgrade wheels ect..
Would be nice with keyless go, standard perhaps?
What do I need to make sure that the xkr that I want has ..
Both in terms of what extras are nice to have, and extras will make it easier to sell in 2 3 years down the road?

Any input will be greatly appreciated...

I own both a 2014 Porsche 981 Cayman and a 2009 Jaguar XKR Convertible Portfolio Edition

The Cayman is a true 2 seater sports car.
The Jaguar XKR is a pure GT Touring car.

For cruising and pure power the XKR prevails.
For overall comfort the XKR prevails.
For sports car ride, & style the Cayman prevails

With the XKR's the cars come with great styling and Jaguar wheels. I see no need to ever change or upgrade wheels, unless there is some kind of personal desire for a change.

My 2009 XKR is a "Portfolio Edition" Jaguar so it is loaded with all options except Adaptive Cruise Control.

The XKR ride is subperb and is pure style, luxury and perfomance all wrapped into one beautiful automobile.

I suggest you select a year that you want to buy (2009, 2010, 2011,2012 etc).
There is heavy depreciation on the Jaguar brand in the first 3 years, so be fully prepared for the decline in value, Coupe or Convertible.

Many on this forum will concur on the depreciation factor in 1st .....3 years.

Then decide on style/model either Coupe of Convertible. There is a big difference between the two.

Then download or find the sales brochure from Jaguar and use the sales brochure for your options that are available to you.

Google New Cars, Used Cars, Car Reviews | Cars.com and select your search for what you want.

Be sure use Nada.com, KBB.com, and or edmunds.com for used car values and pricing standards.

Most Jaguars will have a wood veneer interior, which I do not particularly like either. My interior trim is "spun aluminum".

Ask many questions, as there are many people here willing to help you.
We all love our Jaguars, and this is a great source of information.

See my 2009 XKR in photo attachment in my signature.

Happy XK/XKR hunting.

Thx for pointers. Why the facelift model?
Aside from the Hp increase and antenna delete, are there many ither reasons that the latter car is the better one? Less eletrical problems?

Currently looking at a car from 08 with 50t miles, full service , coupe, have had my share of soft tops..

Just sold my 996 04 and 987 boxster S, and want a real GT car... Might go for exhaust upgrade otherwise stock XKR... So much value for money here in my country..

Why no wood? We are talking about a Jaguar... You can always pop off the wood and have it painted body color if you want, but to me the XK does not have enough wood!

Now, we all have various preferences.. But wood just reminds me of the Jag of yesteryear... love the more clean look... that said, the wood looks good too, just not as nice and the pain look... But again, all in the eye of the beholder...
