Window regulator come loose? I think you are going to remove the door cover and take a look in there - download the manual for the car and look at page 3341.
The door glass has aluminium clamps front and rear holding it to the guide channels. This is the front:
This is the rear:
It could be as simple as the Torx head Screws come loose on the clamps. Alternatively the lower guide channel fixings (circled in green) could be loose.
In any event, the first step is to remove the door card to see what's happened.
I should have added, use masking tape to mark the original positions of the clamps if you do need to disturb them (see the red reference marks I'd made in the first two photos in post #3). This avoids having to reset the lift height and tilt of the glass by adjustment later.
I've repaired this design of window lift on both an X150 and a Bentley Continental GT. The Jaguar assembly had to come out to replace the door lock reinforcement so it was a straightforward remove / refit. The reference marks saved a lot of time and it went back in exactly the same adjustment first time. The Bentley had a broken drive cable and needed a replacement assembly. it took several assembly/disassembly to get the glass position right.
This is the Bentley Continental GT:
You'd almost think the two designers had sat in the same room.
Very likely that. You'll be unlucky if something is broken because the glass wouldn't lower or lift.
When you remove the door card, be extremely careful taking off the speaker housing. See my post on door handle replacement for a photo showing the fixings:
