Default Lower pulley for XKR

Hi Forum, I searched on ECU tunes on this forum and found the thread discussing Eurocharged Tunes. It seems like a good deal, only 1k for a tune and pulley upgrade. I asked about getting the lower pulley upgraded and they said they can have one made which will increase the boost. They don't have any numbers speaking to how much of a boost. It will cost an additional 1k. Have anyone upgraded the lower pulley with Eurocharged or any other vendor? If so,what type of gains did you see? I'm just mulling around whether or not it would be worth the extra $$$.

I think there is one person here with a lower Pulley, but I'm not sure of the boost you end up with. I would just look at a 3LBS upper pulley IMHO, that about the safe limit you want to raise your boost and its one pulley versus 2.

thats just my 25 cent opinion.

I have also started to look into a supercharger pulley upgrade and have seen a post written by whiteXKR you might want to read. Search "supercharger pulley adventures" to find it. I have seen claims of 25 HP for 1.5 increased boost and 45 to 65 HP for 3 psi increased boost

I have the Eurotoys upper and lower pulleys SC about 4 years ago for my 4.2L and honestly I have to say it was the most SOTP difference of all my mods. I've done hiflo cats, ECU tune exhaust and air intake but the pulleys mode made the most difference imo with my sotp dyno. Unfortunately, I did not do a baseline or dyno after each mod.

Problem with upper and lower sc pulleys is it will reach heat soak quicker which will result in lost horsepower. I do notice a lost of horsepower during hot summer months.

A killer chill will resolve heat soak though.

Hi GhostriderXKR08, BTW your car is the one that inspired me to mod mine Great looking car!

What is the total boost increase you see with both pulleys? I agree SOTP my 3LBS and tune is just awesome, the car is a monster well into the triple digits.

Interesting discussions going on here. Does someone know what was done to the R-S to get the additional 40HP. Do they use the same pulley's as the R or did they go with a different size. If they kept them the same did they just chip the ECU or were there other mods.

On the R-S its just a slightly different engine mapping(tune) and freer flowing exhaust.
