Default Lubricating weatherstrip seals. Which product?

Hi

I'd like to lubricate door, window, trunk rubber seals on my Jag. Looking for a quality product that does not cause any long term damage. What is recommended?

Thanks

A Japanese product from Shin-Etsu is the best stuff from what I hear. Used it years ago on my S2000.

303 Aerospace protectant. Works great on everything rubber, plastic, coated leather, etc... I use it on everything. Tail lights, headlights, weatherstripping, plastic trim, tires, engine compartment rubber/plastic, dashboard, resin yard furniture, You get the idea.

Shin-Etsu is a thick silicone grease that is a Honda product and used on rubber seals. Available from Honda dealers or fleabay in a fat tube for about $15. I use it on all my vehicles and it works well.

Default gummi pflege

I use a product called gummi pflege. Its a dry lubricant, non sticky, but softens and protects rubber and weatherstripping. Learned about it on the BMW forums where its universally recommended. It lasts a long time, is water resistant, and really I think its the best product out there.

I used to be a big fan of gummi pflege from BMW, but they stopped producing it. Turns out gummi pflege is "rubber care", so it is a generic term. Other products of this type were not as good.

I now use Wurth Rubber Care. It does a better job cleaning but doesn't last as long. So instead of yearly application with BMW stuff, I now do it couple times a year.

Another Vote for this stuff, better link on Amazon that ships direct from Amazon and Prime eligible. plus it is Official Genuine Honda version, never met a Honda Care Product that didn't exceed expectations.
Amazon Amazon

Cheers,

Dave

Weird I bought some just last week?

Have used it for quite a few years and never had an issue with leaks, wind noise or weathering seals, also the compound seems the same as it was years back

Strong smell of ginger which is quite pleasant to use...and now you all have these images of me with my nose pressed up against my rubbers!

Another vote for the Nextzett Gummi - particularly since it's water based. I usually purchase from DetailedImage.
