Apart from the split, that hose looks in good condition. It makes me wonder if there may be a lot of 60 or 70 thousand mile engines that should have all the water hoses replaced.

Only issue ive ever had with the hoses was self inflicted ... pliers would slip off the dam hose clamps and they would snap around and cut into the rubber. I did however proactively change the valley hoses since they looked terrible and I was already there.

The cooling fan connectors...
Can't find a photo but there is a harness mounted below lower lateral frame strut , coming from the front left side of the front .
See screenshot from the electrical manual. It is the purple harness. Look for the connectors marked with the red circle

There is a big chance you removed that loom and now it is resting in the lower front left area somewhere
Hope it helps

Thanks for trying to help there brother 🤗
I am having difficulty in locating the little bugger, I will have another fo tomorrow evening. It's so dam close, just need to find it.
What I need is a definitive picture or location. Although your diagram clearly shows it coming in from the left to right. This may help if I try to locate and follow that loom.
Thanks Danny🤗

Found that fan plug, it was looking me in the face 😂
So that's it, engine done and complete.
I even did a video recorded its first start up, of course it once again roars like the Jaguar that it is😁.
So I shall post the video of the initial start up straight from the re build in a moment.
Then I will post another video of the whole complete and finished car tomorrow with a walk around, then I'm done with the thread👍
I really hope this will help others understand a little more about these magnificent engines. There certainly was not much out there when i was researching, so maybe this might help start the ball rolling with other forum members. The journey was not as bad as I was expecting on the forum, got a little close but that's forums😁😂
Thanks Danny J for helping out with the scoop location thing, always appreciate some one who goes out of there way to help🤗
Oh and for those who were rather concerned and worried about the colour of bloody coolant. I am not quite sure about the shade of red/pink, what do you think?🤔, a little lighter or darker😂😂
🤗

Beautiful job!
(Enjoyed following your straight forward, methodical approach to things. Big compliments. And, enjoy that gorgeous Jag...)

Default sense of accomplishment

How proud you must feel.

I got rid of my 07 XK at 50k miles because I was too old to do my own work at age 75. My closest dealer was 100 miles round trip, independent service was also 100 miles and I knew what a hassle parts id/cost and availability was from doing some suspension work. I still mourn the loss of that car.

My complements Sir.

I gotta ask. Did I give you the correct hose part # the second time around? I was using the electronic parts catalog and found the part closest to the pic.

Thankyou for taking the time to document this whole event. Taking images and videos, making notes and posting to this thread will have been a major effort in itself. A very appreciative Mark. (2008 XKR, Australia)
