Default Microphone/wiring question

I continue to struggle with the hands free/phone operation. My phone pairs and docks normally. I can make and take calls. I hear the other party, but they can’t hear me. I have a new microphone purchased from the local Jaguar dealer. I removed the A pillar cover, plugged in the new microphone and it’s not working. I noticed a plug in the pillar that’s not plugged in to anything. Anyone know what it is?

What is this plug?

10 year old vehicle specification and probably a considerably more modern phone?

It could be phone incompatability rather than an issue with the vehicle hardware. Check the Jaguar Connectivity Centre which gives information on compatible phones and any limitations:

Thanks Graham, I’ve tried many different phones and the result is the same. Thanks to Cambo, I learned how to get into the diagnostic screen and the microphone shows no activity. Next step is to exchange the radio.

Took another look this morning and I see further down the wiring there are two more open plugs in addition to the one in my previous pic. Any idea what these are?
