Default Mina exhaust + center silencer delete on a 4.2 XKR

Has anyone got a 4.2 XKR with the Mina rear exhaust section AND a mid section with the center silencers deleted and a x-pipe in, like the Spires stage 1?

I already have the Spires stage 1 but am thinking about changing my stock rear section for the Mina one. Curious to hear if anyone's already done the same thing, if so how does it sound? Much drone/booming? Any chance of a sound/video clip?

Had an X-pipe on my XK; didn't notice a difference, but kept it on.

See my recent post about stock vs. Mina: HERE

Please note: 1. This is a regular XK (not "R"), and 2. The Mina has a built-in crossover.

Great, thanks for that. Sounds like the Mina exhaust is noticeably louder on acceleration in-car than the standard one (with the resonator delete) but about the same when cruising/light-throttle, would you agree with that?

My apologies for the delay in responding. Yes, it is louder inside when you're on it but cruising/light throttle is very agreeable. I LOVE this exhaust and am supremely happy with my decision to give it to myself as an early Christmas present.

The Mina is only an axle back... not a catback so that is a little misleading in terms of comparing since all of their competitors are Cat back. The Mina exhaust does not have a built in crossover... It only replaces the rear muffler.

That is correct, the Mina is an axle back.

The built-in crossover is inside the rear muffler, per Chris at Mina. It may not be the traditional x-pipe you envision that joins two parallel exhaust pipes, but there is balancing within the muffler, which is why I didn't bother with an x-pipe - it is unnecessary.

Traditionally, the best way to determine the placement of an x-pipe is to put a little bit of paint on the front section of the exhaust, then run the car a bit. Where the paint stops burning is where the x-pipe should be. That being the case, the crossover within the Mina may not be ideal, but it sure does sound good.
