Default More coupes then converts

As I look through all of the various sites for used XKR's I see more coupes for sale then converts. Is the reason that more coupes were manufactured or that the converts are more popular. Does anyone have the info on how many were produced of each for the years lets say 2011-2013. Just wondering

Don't know how many were made, but I think a lot of leases are for coupes so they hit the used market more than verts. Private buyers tend to go to verts more and keep them. Just my opinion from looking for one in the past.

Pretty sure there are more convertibles made by a noticeable margin. Anyone know for sure?

Hard to say
I love the lines of the coupe. The vert loses that look with the drop top. If I want wind in my hair driving I have a Vette roadster for that

Forum Members:

In reference to this original question, I emailed Jaguar USA today to see if they will provide the production numbers of XK/XKR Coupes vs. Convertible production here in the USA for the years 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013.

Hopefully, I will hear back by Monday or Tuesday of next week and I post the information provided by Jaguar USA.

That will end any speculation of production of coupes vs convertibles for the US marketplace.

According to that previous tread, production for the US is half and half. I am surprise of that, it seem to me there is more coupe on the road

Maybe the owners of convertible buy them for the long term? For me, it's a summer fun car and it's not for sale yet.

I seem to remember a post in the forum that said coupes accounted for a third of XK sales. If you want to know how many total XK sales for the US and Canada, you can find it here:

Yes, that's an informative sight. They actually use my car as an example of an '08 Botanical Green XK. Several pics used.
