Default The most ticketed cars

Below is a list of the most ticketed cars of 2013 according to insurance.com. “Cars don’t get tickets, drivers do — but those drivers like the WRX,” Insurance.com Managing Editor Des Toups noted in a statement about the study.

Here are the top 20 vehicles that get the most tickets:

1. Subaru WRX – 33.6%

2. Pontiac GTO – 32.7%

3. Scion FR-S – 32.6%

4. Toyota Supra – 30.8%

5. Subaru Tribeca – 29.7%

6. Volkswagen Rabbit – 29.6%

7. Mercury Topaz – 28.8%

8. Scion tC – 28.8%

9. Toyota FJ Cruiser – 28.4%

10. Mazda2 – 28.1%

11. Hyundai Veloster – 28.1%

12. Volkswagen GTI – 28.1%

13. Suzuki Reno – 28.1%

14. Scion xA – 27.8%

15. Pontiac G8 – 27.7%

16. MINI Cooper S Countryman – 27.5%

17. Mitsubishi 3000 GT – 27.4%

18. Saturn Aura – 27.1%

19. Infiniti QX56/QX80 – 27.1%

20. Toyota Prius C – 27.0%

Surprised to see Prius on the list and NOT BMW 3-Series. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder if it is a percentage of these cars? Like the Supra - can't be that many on the road anymore... so it is % of licensed supras in comparison - or how many times the few Supra owners are ticketed?

It's based on a funky sample size. My friends and I have had some fun playing with it -- but it's not reflective of the truth at large.

I'd say the most dominant factor in determining these results would be the average age of the drivers of the vehicles involved. As for the Prius, those were probably tickets for going too damn slow.

Upon further research the Priuses were ticketed for driving slow in the left lane.

Default Prius drivers ticketed. . .

I'm on the highway a lot and almost every Prius I see is hauling a** in the left lane. At those speeds, the Prius' advantage, higher mpg, has to be blown away as their mpg selling advantage only becomes available in the right-hand lane. Too me, they're a bunch of hypocrites. If you want a feasible highway car, don't get one that boosts highway mpg and then use it in a manner that negates the primary purchasing purpose. They want to look green, but mostly drive it in an un-green way.

I drive my Jaguars as they were designed to be driven (under my profile, it specifies that they are always driven 30% or more below the speed limit) and there is no need to mask their capabilities to others.

Default MPG for PURRRLL

By the way, my 2010 XKR gets 24.5+ mpg on the highway (spirited driving and in performance mode, of course). It has amazed me that my 370hp XJR100 gets only about 18mpg under the same conditions. The XJR 100 produces 140 hp LESS and yet gets 30% LESS mpg. Still amazes me every time I drive the Interstates.

Prius' may be advertised at 45+mpg on the highway, but if they are in the left-lane going 75+ like I see them all the time, there is no way they get the advertised rate. More like in the low 30's or less.

If PURRRLL gets 24+ and Prius' get in the 30's; my ride is much more enjoyable with a lot more room for accident avoidance and protection in the event of.

Not scientific but PURRRLL wins hands down.

No wonder I haven't had a ticket since 1964. I haven't owned any of those cars. Oh I also wear my pants over my hips. LOL Drive it if you got it

You'd be surprised what those hybrids can get for fuel economy, even at highway speeds. I had a 2011 honda Insight and even at 75 I would get in the mid 40s. They have tiny engines!!

If you have the means, I highly recommend the Jag, though!

This is yet another reason our engine's are such a big deal. They are by far the most fuel efficient engine of their HP - even now - nearly a decade after developed. Jag does make epic powerplants; Aston has been using the same one with minimal changes for over 20 years for their V8 cars.

My Mercedes E500 gets 32 on highway... without getting blown all over the road or sounding like the car is going to collapse from the wind & road noise.

Impressive. I can barely manage 24 in my XKR! And city mileage is something like 13 for me!

We won't talk about city mileage in either car...
