My 07 XK Convertible Makes Me Smile
I don't think I've ever owned a car that didn't have problems at some point (some more than others). But of all the cars I've owned, I have to say that my 2007 XK convertible has brought me more smiles and "appreciative dashboard pats" than any other.
It's far from perfect, but between its looks, its power (even as a non-XKR), its luxury, and its purr (or growl, depending on how far and how quickly you push down on the pedal), I haven't owned something that brings me quite so much satisfaction.
The satisfaction extends to my local Jag dealership, too. For better or worse, I have gotten to know the service department quite well, and they take VERY good care of me and the car. For example, when I was out of town and the key fob died while the car was at a detailer, the dealership sent a technician to the shop to reprogram the car right there in their garage. I was only charged for the new key. I think that's pretty cool.
So on a beautiful day like today, driving with the top down and my hat and sunglasses on, listening to good music on the radio, I smile, broadly.
What an awesome car.

The other day was many of the many perfect convertible days we have around here - clear, sunny, around 72 degrees, we were driving along the curving back roads with Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains providing ever changing vistas.
As we turned on to our street I said to my wife - in this car, I almost hate getting home.
