Default Need advice on "slightly bent" rims...

Had four new tires mounted last week at the Jag dealer and was advised that all four rims were "slightly bent."

I've put 15k miles on the car and haven't noticed anything. The tires that were replaced were still in decent shape and all were wearing evenly. I've not hit any major pot holes and while I have fun with the car, I certainly don't abuse it. I'll assume the rims were "slightly bent" when I bought it last February.

Do I need to be concerned about the rims? Obviously straightening or replacing them is not going to be cheap.

Thanks.

Most wheel repairs are about $100-150ea which includes repairs for bends and curb rash and repaint. Bent is okay if it passed road force variance for tire wheel assembly. If theyre bent to the point that road force is higher than spec, i would repair them

When i bought my xkr recently. On inspection the front right when rotated was slightly out. Must have hit a pothole by the previous owner. A quick trip to the mag wheel guys and she is all good again. If there are no splits then chances are small bends can be sorted. Quite a common thing on mag wheels. There're made of butter don't you know lol.
Like you i felt no wheel wobble etc. It was probably like that when you bought it.
Hope you get it sorted.

Hey Tom.

I had to have two wheels straightened when I had my 07. I used "Alloy Wheel Repair" in Norcross. They have several locations in and around ATL, so there may be one nearer to you. They charged $130 a wheel and do it in about two days - they will also do it overnight if you ask, for the same price, if they are not to backlogged.

I hit a really deep hole one morning on the way to work that severely bent an deflated the front wheel and actually cracked the rear wheel (passengers side). After they fixed they were as good as new, and gave me a warranty.

The guy I talked to was John Cooper. johncooper@awrswheelrepair.com...404 296 4827. Their address i 3100 Medlock bridge Rd, Norcross, 30071
