Need Help Selecting A Color
Setting aside the price difference, I'm down to two XKR's both of which have "different" somewhat non-traditional colors.
The first: 2007 Frost Blue with Cream and Blue two-tone interior.
The second: 2009 Silver with Caramel interior (must have been special ordered)
I recognize that this is a personal choice, however, I would cretainly appreciate some friendly feedback...
Happy Thanksgiving

This is simple, at least it was for me since this is my first Jag. I wanted a classic and timeless color combination that mimicked British Racing Green with a tan leather interior.
My 08 I bought the wife is stunning in Botanical Green and Carmel. And don't let the name fool you. BG is a modern version of BRG, not some PC correct color you'd find on a Prius.
The metal flake is amazing and with the right polish (ZAINO) the paint looks wet and deep
And when the sun isn't out it takes on the BRC that brings back so many memories from the 60's Jag's
Good luck in your hunt and choice

Heh -- I have the same color combo -- the Caramel is very nice interior. I was looking at a parchment over Blue myself, but was a little concerned about how well the pale leather would hold up to my habitual wearing of Levis. For me, it was the Green that did it. In your case, I'm not overly fond of Silver so I'd definitely take a hard look at the blue. Sounds like a fabulous quandary to have though.

It's all down to personal taste. Before I bought my XKR, I passed on a silver XK because it had a black interior. It was in a main dealer with great financing at a good price, but I could not get past that black leather and black dash. YMMV.
Out of those two I would lean towards the silver car, but owning the blue one would not upset me at all.

Silver w/ Tan is an awesome combo - and when I was looking I only saw 2 or 3 of them out there... So it's very rare. It is my #1 color combo on the XK escpecially if you can get that really light wood (forget the name of it). But it looks awesome
IMO you'll have a hard time selling the light blue - when I've seen them they always are up for sale for a long time and usually sold at lower prices than the Silver, Dark Blue, Black, etc....

Sorry UltBlkXF but that's not true at all. It's actually the opposite. The frost blue resale value is actually higher because it is a rare color unlike silver or black which you see tons of on the market. I've had the color in the past with my Mercedes CL500 and I've never gotten more compliments with any other color. For that reason alone I decided to purchase a frost blue XK convertible and I am getting the same results.

FWIW - I always thought Xk looked best in darker grey shades. Then I ran across an 07 XK convertible in this "frost blue" and bought it on the spot, contingent on a test drive. Well they couldn't get it started and then they got the top frozen in the half up position. Buy the next day sanity had reasserted itself as my wife pointed out it had more miles than my current Jag and the wheels had been ruined by an acid wash. Bummer!
The point is, "frost blue" is Killer!

First off, I appreciate all the feedback, it's what I had expected and hoped for. The selection of a car color is obviously a personal matter and, at the end of the day, it's no different then the selected color of your house or the style clothes you wear.
With that said, when I was looking at the Silver and Caramel XKR, customers at the dealership "volunteered" that they didn't like it. As for the Frost Blue XKR, it's still for sale, as we speak!? The Frost Blue XKR has 25K miles, very clean, fully loaded with a 100K Select Edition warranty and priced at $38K.
I ended up buying an Ebony XK with Charcoal interior that, when I saw it, I immediately fell for it. The darker XK's don't show the body lines and I observed and liked that look.
However, let me be clear, I would be happy and proud to own any of those colors. Hell, I think they could paint that car Pink and it would still be the best looking car on the road

You know, before I bought my 08 XK, I looked at just about every color combo. Truth is, this is such a beautiful car, it looks good in just about any color. I ended up with Indigo Blue and Ivory two tone interior (Georgous!), but almost anything would have worked for me. The only color I absolutely did NOT want was gold. I just think the gold color paint does not do this car justice...

The frost blue is a beautiful color. It was the color I was shooting for when I bought mine. 07 is the only year for the true British Racing Green on the XK. After that, it was replaced with Jaguar Racing Green which is metallic. While both greens are beautiful, I went with mine because it was a one year color and I really liked it.
