So update.....

She came around! And then her VDP blew some tranny codes today and I confirmed its dead. She is going to look at a 2013 CPO XK tomorrow. She really wanted a white with full tan interior and this one has a black dash and carpets.

Funny story, we were on vacation in FL last month. I got in 2 days earlier and rented a new Stingray.....AWESOME car. She showed up at the airport with three large bags....GRRRR. Went back to the rental desk and got a new XF.

We hated it. Ride, interior/exterior was fine, but it did the fuel saving shut off thing while stopped. Plus I got a ticket driving down to the keyes hahah.

But back on topic. She is going to look at a CPO 2013 XK coupe in the low $40k range. Its local and sold by Jaguar so thats a plus. Im more positive as she is driving the sale more than me.

If Yall get a chance to drive/rent a new Stigray......DO IT. Its the fastest car ive ever driven besides a Mclaren SLR. Im not a an American car fan in general....but I almost sold my 911 C4S when I got home.

I have both the base 4.2 and a 2010 XKR. My faith in the 5.0l is significantly less than that of the bullet proof 4.2.
To me, the ideal car is a 2009 XKR, which is the pinnacle of the first Gen series. It has a few less features, but the 4.2 super is not a slouch in any way, and in nearly 2 decades of production the 4.2 is fully sorted out. The 5.0 is a powerhouse, but has already shown many costly wrinkles that will take years to iron out to match the older motor.
Food for thought and study.

She bought it and it was in the shop the next morning. Coolant leak, no washer fluid etc.

So much for the 163 point CPO inspection. That kinda stuck in my throat.

But anyway...she is happy, I love it Polar white Ivory interior.

It's under full Jag warranty til Aug 2019.

Thanks for all the advice and see yall around the campfire.

Well congrats are in order!
Fear not, the warranty has any and all know issues well covered should you encounter any one of them. Coolant leak from the water pump is known, and pretty much agreed as Critical should it fail.(IE on indication of overheat, do not pass go, do not collect $200, pull over, turn car off, and call a flat tow.) so have them look it over and push hard for the latest version water pump while they are in there.

Peace!
Vince

See ya on the Byways!
(BTW , Great color choice!)
