Exclamation Need Underbody Engine Shield 2011 XKRS

Hello, I am looking for an underbody engine gravel shield for my 2011 XKRS. I am having trouble locating one online. I have found several for the prior body style. There was one used parts store that had one but it is broken already in 2 places, so that doesn't help much. I have drilled holes in mine and have it secured with zip ties, which is working so far. I imagine they will need to be removed for access to change the oil.
I would like to find a new OEM replacement if possible.
Thanks,
Todd

Can't help you for sourcing one but as an FYI you don't need to remove the shield to change the oil. That is done from the top of the engine where you hook up a vacuum oil extractor on the nipple under the oil fill cap. Also the oil filter is on the top of the 5.0L engines.

Depending on the break you might want to try taking some aluminum flat stock and screw or rivet it as a support.

+1 on jagtoes' suggestion since it's under the car and not visible. It's an easy DIY fix, will save you $$$, be fully functional and the pan will be stronger than new.

Why buy a new one when there's no guarantee that it won't break just like the first one?

Also so you know, without that shield down there the bonnet tends to puff and rattle up and down over 140 mph or so. Therefore, I think it's probably more of an aero piece than a gravel shield.

Great!, thank you for your input. I'm all for repairing and saving $. I do have a question about what type of aluminum stock material to use. Are you talking about thicker sheets of aluminum or strips of material? I would think it needs to support some of the weight of the shield.
Thanks,
Todd

Because the pan is plastic and was probably designed to be flexible, I would use thin sheet aluminum. First, I would bond it to the inside of the pan with Rhino Glue or JB Weld or other appropriate high temperature adhesive. Second, I would follow up from the outside with some rivets or other fasteners for additional structural integrity in case the adhesive doesn't hold. There's lots of heat down there!

I would avoid adding any significant weight or thickness to the pan.

Are there instructions on how to upload pics? It has been a while since I looked underneath, but I think one of the areas that broke was where it attached to the frame.
