Never see a Jag

Never see a Jag
I watch this show "cars & coffee" and so far I have never seen any of our XK's as the scan or walk through the gathering of cars. Also some of the other "classic cars" show have the same results. I know a few of you have shown or have gone to shows but here in the north east these cars are far and few between. Funny thing is I see Lambo's or Ferrari's but XK's and AM don't seem to roll into these shows. How is it in your area.

I seldom see newer Jags in the "show" area of cars & coffee. Occasionally they will be in the spectator parking area and that is where I park mine if I drive it.
I don't think people are interested in looking at most modern cars less than ten or fifteen years old. Ferrari's and Lambo's are always interesting as they are pretty rare. Seeing half a dozen 2017 Vettes or 911's does nothing for me. I probably saw that many in the mall parking lot yesterday. My wife and I go to see the unusual and seldom seen cars. That is just me.
OTH I am surprised how many people comment and give a thumbs up on the newer Jags. I had a black '97 XK8 coupe that got almost as much attention as my E Type.

Don't know about you guys, but I've never seen an X150 anywhere in my entire state. I know there IS one, a fellow forum member just bought one but I haven't seen it yet. I figure that fact DOES make it pretty rare. Many, many Porsches, a Lambo once in awhile, and no Ferraris to my recollection.

Living in L.A., Porsches are as numerous as Priuses. Jags are rarer but you do see a lot of XFs and more and more F-Paces and F-Types. At my local Supercar Sunday show, there are as many as a thousand cars that show up, and at the couple of times per year that I stop by, there are rarely more than one or two Jags (including mine!).

The XK/XKR are marvelous GT autos. We are retired and have time/inclination to do massive road trips, like 25K+ miles/yr. We rarely see any model Jaguar in rural areas. Same with Porsches and Mercedes. My sense is that most owner/lessees are still working, and just do not have the time to do road trips - so they fly the trips.

I've been participating in car shows for 30 years (mostly showing classic Corvettes and Mustangs) but a once a year British car show is an excuse to polish all the swirls out of the old XJ8 and show it off. At our local weekend, parking lot shows here in the Fort Worth area, its like 90% domestic with a scattering of European and maybe a nostalgic Japanese car once in a blue moon (I also show a 1985 Toyota Supra maybe a couple times a year). I see an older model Jaguar, like an XK120 or E-type often enough. The XJ-S's on rare occasion, but anything newer than the early 80s is almost never. The XK8 owners may feel their cars are still too new, but I'd say bring them out because they're rare enough, not like showing a bone-stock late model Mustang which plenty of people do anyway.
Just be glad you don't have a Mercedes. I count on my fingers the number of Mercedes of any vintage that I've seen at a local car show these last 30 years. Plenty of classic Mercedes on the roads (especially the diesels), but for some reason, Mercedes owners don't ever bother to shine them up and bring them to a car show (or apparently even wash them for that matter).

Realize I live in a climate more conducive to Jeeps and Hummers than sports cars, but I see tons of Mercedes and Corvettes still the same. I've seen one or two F-Types while traveling through New England, and the occasional Ferrari... and lots of SUV Porche (why? why I say!) Parked right behind an FType R the other day in KennebunkPort ME, see below, but yeah, XK XKR, not so much. I would have been the only had I bothered to take mine to the British car show a couple weeks ago. But I'd rather look around than stand by my vehicle.

I go to a couple of shows a year in the SoCal area. Usually they are for British built vehicles. Normally there are one or two XK/XKRs, some XK8s E-Types and 120-150 series, but many more triumphs, MGs a Bentley or two and an AM or two. On the other hand over the last weekend we headed out locally and saw several XKs and XKRs interspersed among the Teslas, Porsches, Benz, etc.

I share common road paths with several XK150's, so I see them regularly. I didn't notice them until I bought mine, so I'm not sure if I just hadn't seen them, or they all started hitting the road within a few months of each other.
I haven't been able to fit car shows that often anymore, the only one I drop by is an Italian car meet, Alfa's, Lambo's, Ferrari's, etc. I love the 1960's Italian sheet metal that shows up. A really spectacular era.

The Annual International "Car Week/Grand Concourse" in Monterey/Carmel,CA is the place to see a good variety of makes, models, and vintages including some beautiful Cats:
https://www.seemonterey.com/events/sporting/concours/
Lots of events including casual street/park and curated shows, exclusive evening affairs/dinners (some with admission prices that make politicians' fundraisers look respectable), auctions (including vintage), and races at Arroyo Seco.
Actually, just driving around during that week is a show !
Found one of my faves an indie local event: '56 XK140 rag top in Cotswald Blue in mint condition. Truly a beauty!
