Talking New owner.

Hi Everyone,

New owner here. I'm excited to be here -- I've never owned a Jaguar before... or even a convertible for that matter. I found a 2010 Caramel/Botanical Green XKR that is currently en-route to my house. Only has 2.8k on the odometer and the balance of the factory warranty on it. I had it checked out by the Jaguar dealer in the local area I bought it from and other than a power steering hose recall campaign, it passed with flying colors.

Like another new member did recently, I bought it sight unseen off of the internet, and am hoping that the tons of pictures they sent me of the car are accurate portrayals of the cars condition. <wry chuckle>

At any rate -- I am definitely looking forward to interacting with everyone. Thanks for the warm welcome so far!

Congrats on the purchase and best of luck with it. Great color choice and rag top to boot. Enjoy your new XKR and your time here.

Congrats on finding such a beauty. I like the colour scheme...good choice. It seems almost all the cars I see advertised are black, grey or silver with black or grey interior. I was starting to think Jag buyers as a group were suffering from a lack of imagination...maybe just the ones around Toronto! Ooops, come to think of it I've got a black coupe now...but at least it has a tan interior!

Looks great! Is the condition as described by the dealer, and how do you like the colour combo now that you see it?

It's pretty much as described by the dealer. Looks like the front splitter got curbed once as a little of it is ground off. No curbing on any rims. There's a chip of paint missing out of one of them though. And inside there's a scuff on the leather of the drivers door. I'm going to detail it today to fully go over it but overall I'd say that it's in great shape. I'm a little more "detail oriented" than the average bear, so I notice things that others don't. Which is normally why I buy new, but the price differential for this one was too much to ignore. <chuckle>

As far as color combo -- it's a great combo. Even the pictures above seem to make it look blacker than it really is, but in person -- even in grey / overcast light -- it's definitely green. And the green top really works well. And Caramel leather is such a great neutral tone. Light without being too light. If I'd have ordered one prior, I'd have either gone with a black or tan top with the green, but now that I've seen it in person, the green works really well.

Sounds great. Have fun with it, and keep the shiny side up!

What a nice color for the Evergreen state (or any state really). I grew up in Olympia, and know that even though you won't, comparatively, have too many days with the top down the days it is down will be perfect. Nothing like a NW summer. Gorgeous car, congrats!

All that little "wear" you notice? No one else does. btw racing green and caramel is the classiest combination for a Jag, but really the car looks gorgeous in any reasonable color combo, it's that shapely. My Indigo blue and caramel looks ready for the Oscars.
