Default New wheels, Yay or Nay?

I found these in the right sizes and I think they're kinda cool. There are a few others I don't mind, but why not be a little bit different?

If anyone out there with more time and skilzz with photo editing than I wants to graft these onto a picture of my car, that'd be fine with me.

10'' rim with 305 on the rears drool )..

All jokes aside, these do look pretty good I do think they will suit the xkr superbly! and I am rarely a fan of aftermarket nice find

Wheel-wise, I'm a traditionalist (but that's just me), and Jaguar gives us a lot to choose from.
Having said that, I know that finding a full set of OEM wheels in your vintage, especially the particular ones you may want, is more or less an impossibility these days.
So... buy what you want. (Just please stick with aluminum or black. No Chrome!!)

They do look pretty nice, but do they come in both clockwise and counterclockwise twist patterns (if you get what I mean)? So you get the same rotational effect on both sides of the car.

Bi-directional would by far be my preference also, but I think that they just go the one way.

yeah…. and change is nice but, they seem to lack the soft finesse of the lines if the xkr. A little too sharp edged for me.
Will they stick out like a sore thumb or will the contrast add some interest?? I’m not sure.

I do concur, not chrome, bi-directional and 305s, yay!

I still haven't seen anything I like better than the Senta wheels to shell out the dough.

These are the other contenders which I liked before I saw the bent ones:

A variation of the Senta? Sort of. I don't like fake beadlocks either (too much to clean and clutter up the looks) so these are still a possibility.

Kind of a common design, seem to see a lot of these around, not really special anymore. I like the bent ones better.

there’s just something “right” about the 5 spoke rim and the humble variations.

Nay; The aftermarket ones seem to be lighter, less strong.
I would rather find other Jag or Rover mags that fit, because they are stronger and were designed by
the same group that did the OE on our cars.
Places can refurbish the OE mags to like new or change color.

IMHO, the"Vortex" design is the best looking OEM X150 Jaguar 20" wheel for the 5.0L XKR. Unfortunately they're expensive. I'm not a fan of cheap aftermarket wheels - you get what you pay for. But it's your car, your money, and your choice.

There are many good looking OEM Jaguar wheels for the 5.0L X150.

Yep, I'd love a set of Vortex......... 20x10 - ET40 and 20x9.5 - ET46. Are there any? Well, yeah. The Vortex REAR wheels are exactly correct for the Front. No way to get bigger ones for the rear without a lathe and some welding. I momentarily considered getting some Nevis rears resized to 10 inch wide and use a 15mm spacer for the back end. Even Nevis rears are incredibly difficult to find in XK specs and also quite expensive. Then having them modified which isn't an ideal situation.
I've bought aftermarket wheels for nearly every car I've ever owned and have never in my life had a problem with any of them.

I'm also not an "OEM OR NOTHING" guy. Stock is boring.

Those are a dead ringer for Enkei TY-5, of which I had a set on my Skyline.

Vastly different car, but if it helps you see how they look:

To me they look too average.
They look like what I was looking for for an SL ...They are ok for a 100.000 production figure german car... not for a rare british one.
The Jaguar XK is a rare and high level car. It deserve much more refined wheels. The OEM ones are like this...But I admit they look a little old fashion..
Maybe some F-Type wheels might modernize it with more refined touch.

Looks like hubs got ahead of the rims to me. But then I'm the type that adjusts the picture frames in my friends homes - Talking

What is nice is the inner part of the rims are really clean, I have trouble keeping mine clean - maybe clean up and some ceramic product applied.
