Default New to XK

Hello all-new to the XK world. I have a 2014 F-type V6S 'vert, and just acquired a 2007 XK 'vert because my wife likes the looks better than the F-type. We found a low mileage (29k) in the area for a reasonable price. She's a stunner, the car too...I've surfed around looking for a pdf of the owner's manual with no joy. Anybody have one to share? we have the hardcopy in the car, but want the pdf to keep on the phone. Will be looking at ways to improve the audio interface (CarPlay, anyone?)

2007 frost blue xk

the car needs an A/C condenser, so what other things should I have the mechanic do while the front is removed?

Nice! Frost Blue? Looks to be same color combination as my '08 XKR. And I'm in Houston too!

Who's your mechanic?

Re: the condenser - not so much a physical proximity thing, but since the AC system will be discharged, see about doing the service bulletin that addresses a whine from the AC system - has to do with inserting a special washer in the connection of the low pressure return pipe at the firewall connection. I'll try and find the TSB number or you can search on here.

Thanks for the reply. We are between Houston and Galveston, and use an Indie shop for generic stuff, still searching for someone to do Jaguar specific stuff. Have used JLR Clear Lake. Thanks for advice about the TSB. Will a dealer know if it’s been done?

If the fix has not been done, the noise will be pretty obvious, especially on a hot Houston afternoon. But if your condenser is leaking and the system has no freon currently, you won't hear it. I would presume that a Jag dealer can look up in their online system whether the fix has been applied, but that would only work if it has been done at a Jag dealer of course. I don't think it is visible once done.

I found my recent post on the subject - see > https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...theory-261952/. The TSB number is mentioned. BTW my fix works "sort of" in that the noise is better but not gone, so I will be having the TSB applied if and when I need to have the freon recharged.

I've had some work done at Jaguarsport International > https://www.jaguarsportinternational.net/ and they're ok but not super duper fantastic.

Dealer might know if the previous shop recorded the repair which might show up on carafe but also call the previous dealer and ask them. You don't need a Jag mechanic for A/C repair. Nothing special about them really.

The 2007 Owner's Handbook may be hard to find in .pdf format. Because your car is a 4.2L, much of the information in the 2009 Owner's Handbook also applies to your car. The 2009 Owner's Handbook is available for download in the "Stickies" at the top of this Forum. Here's the link:

Pretty car, I guess your wife concluded the x150 was an acceptable alternative to the x100.
Did you purchase from individual or dealer and how did you locate the car?

She did indeed find it acceptable. The F-Type had too many creases and angles for her. We found the car on Autolist, private owner. Had a PPI done by our trusted, local, indie shop.
