Default New XK Owner! Wheels & tires?

Hello,

New XK owner here I attached some pics! Truly in love with this car. Did some styling recently to bring up the red, new wheels caps and grille growler.
However I need some new wheels to make it mine!

Does anyone know how large a wheel and tire combo the Jag XK can handle?

Thanks in advance for your help! - bk

20's will fit, but I think 19" is the best option between ride comfort and looks. The springs are quite hard on the XK, so having some tire is of benefit to handling.

Your current tire pattern looks like a nightmare to clean!

Thanks!! I'm staying with the 19s for sure! I'm interested to see how wide I can go and still look normal, I was thinking 265s front and 305s in the rear, but I've never seen it done.

I'd be very hesitant to play around tire sizes or non OEM wheels on the Jag. It can be a rat hole you don't want to dig out of. Jag makes some great looking wheel designs. OEM wheel sets come up all the time on Ebay etc...

My recently acquired 2010 XKR had Hankooks on it when I got it. I wanted an all season tire so I replaced them with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS and it really improved the ride. I have the optional 20" wheels.

I own a 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition package with the Alcon oversized brake package and the PE came with 20" wheels.

I replaced the Jaguar OEM Selena wheels with aftermarket wheels and had NO related problems with the 20" non-OEM wheels and had no probem finding new rubber for the car.

Ended up with the same OEM sizes and have had no related problems.

It is doubtful that you will be able to use a 305 on a 9.5" wide 19" OEM wheels or any wheel that size. The tire is just a bit to wide for the wheel.

A 295 is doable.

You can see photos of the aftermarket wheels and tires in the photos in my signature below.

Coventry has rims specifically designed for Jaguars.

Recently purchased my car and came with the 20" Senta's, 255 Front/285 Rear and I agree they are a beautiful wheel but I would have preferred the 19's for the ride quality.

Just scares me when there's only an inch of rubber between the wheel and pavement. Worried about potholes in the Chicago area.

I recently purchased 18" Coventry Whitleys, Black with the machined lip for a winter setup that I'm pairing up with a set of Blizzaks. 245/45 front, 255/45 Rear. Had to go that route for the staggered rim configuration, 8.5" front and 9.5" rear. Didn't see it in the manuals but tire rack had it as an alternate configuration.

Coventry has a range of sizes and designs and there is a thread about them if you do a search. Looks like a few of us like them.

I've attached a pdf that list the tire size/rim combinations for Jaguars. If you go towards the end you'll fin the XK. Looks like 245 Front and 275 Rear on 19's.

Good luck hunting, I think that's always the best part.
