I bought a work ute a while back for $5000 when the market price was $9000 which seemed too good to be true... it turned out the owner was a company who had leased it, and the "balloon" payment (a lump sum you pay at the end of a lease to lower your monthly repayments) was $5000 so they just wanted to cover that. Of course I had it inspected by a mechanic, report came back good so we bought it. That ute is still going strong today, five years or so later.

Sometimes - although not often!! - the "something" is just that the owner isn't greedy and will let the car go for a reasonable price instead of trying to make as much as possible.

As nice and competent, as these last XK’s are, the market seems to be all over the place for them. Maybe because a large amount of car buyers are not very familiar with them? Not sure, but I’ve seen 10,000 dollar differences, for comparable XK models.

That was my first impression and thus the post here. But, if i was in the market for a black/tan XK......I would be digging further. We have a lot of Hurricane Ian cars popping up here and there. This could be one that slipped through the 'totaled' crack. But yes.....weirdly low price.

Case in point on BaT: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...convertible-6/

Kingsport really isn't that far from you either. Would be a decent fun trip back or shipping wouldn't be that bad either. In fact, I know a guy lol. My brother owns a tow company just north of the border from you. I have a hauler myself. In any event, if you want some straight shooting and good, we'll cared for examples, BaT is a good place. Though, there can be some hefty competition on some items. With Jags, it can be a crapshoot on what has a battle of bids and what doesn't. I just happen to remember that I was watching this one and it seemed to fit what you were looking for and is fairly close relatively speaking.
