Taupe is a greyish brown, not sure that would fit any colour on an XK? The XK above is Meteorite Silver which is a champagne, maybe described as beige even?

The bloody Taupes in my back lawn are nigh on black.

But I've not seen one driving a car though.

Plenty of Topaz and a few Sea Frost here in the UK , the Topaz is a beige goldy metallic , Sea Frost is a pale greenish blue metallic ,

I always thought that if you couldn't tell what color it was, it was taupe. Or was that mauve...???

 

Go and buy a Taupe Gun (even the French can occasionally find a pun)
