Anyone in the same boat and just sliding the guides between the seats.

Mine must have been ordered with the option, as I have brackets. Seen the part numbers in some thread in this forum once. Maybe try a search.

Why would you want to use brackets? It would be a PITA to remove. I'm always removing my deflector to put stuff or kids in and out.

I'm very careful putting it in/out. The bars slide easily down without force. No scuffing at all. If you're concerned about scuffing wrap some electrical tape around the bars that slide down.

Don’t understand the comment.
The brackets fasten behind the rear seats and provide slots to insert the OEM deflector tabs into. The bracket slots don’t extend beyond the seat back, so are generally invisible.
Doesn’t make the install/removal of the deflector difficult. Keeps the deflector oriented correctly.

Oops. I thought the referred to brackets were to attach the deflector more permanently in place. I gently lower the bars down between the seats and it fits snugly. No problem with it coming loose.
