My best friend just bought a 2013 525i. This is good info because while he has not yet tried to place his lips near my rear, I'll be sure to take a second or even a third look before bending over or trying to sit down from now on.

It may come from the fact these cars when you release the accelerator you do not have the engine braking similar to a jaguar. instead you need to push the brakes, and it is more frustrating pushing the brakes to slow down, than letting the engine does his work like most jag engine does....sorry if my english is not great. I am talking about brake / engine, all these little details who makes jaguar stand out of the crowd. It is not only mental with bmw drivers...

i like using this brake engine for example if i go up a hill, speeding and I realize I am a litlle late to turn, or on the exterior of the lanes, i release the accelerator, the nose of the car suddenly goes down, turns much more, brakes too, and i am perfect in the turn....you do this one or twice and you right back on tracks...

It stands reason, they have been told its the ultimate driving machine- so every kok and bad driver believes he is a F1 driver.
Its an incredible job the Germans have done, in brainwashing people.
When they pull up wanting to race with their silly 4 door family cars, I tell them to Foff, they lost the war. You should see their egos shrink like testes. Ironic isnt it, Jaguar is built in the factory where the war winning spitfires were made in Castle Bromwich. With skills passed on from those same patriots that helped us push the ***** back.

I used to have a 1998 BMW z3...it really was a fantastic car. Not one single issue during my ownership. The straight six was a joy to drive. But I think after that year...they started to make things a lot more complex.

I literally Just Watched a rerun of Top Gear and Jeremy James were talking about how Audi has taken over the lead for being driven by "*****". Their word, not mine. My word would be Douchebags.

1998 I was with my BMW 750i very close to this decision - nothing works as it should.

And BMW was not able and does not want to help - arrogant Company. Never ever BMW.

I really appreciate that I am not a stupid idiot , maybe just an ordinary idiot.

I quite enjoy mine but have noticed that the occasional newer generation loan or hire car I have driven, is quite lacking in character and feels really disconnected from the road.

I just wish BMW would install turn signals on their cars.

I think you mean automatic turn signals. Here in SoCal most drivers seem to have paralyzed fingers when it comes to activating their turn signals.

Where I am, its typically a Black or White Chevy that is the menace. About 60% of the big pickups also win special driver awards.

Most of the BMW guys are either driving a car they bought used, and are pretty good drivers. The ones who buy them new leave them in the parking garage instead choosing to use ride sharing systems or public transport for some reason.

Pretty much full sized Sedans or SUV are the bulk of the "special" drivers around here.

Light SUVS, small trucks, or small sedans have the best drivers, they tend to be driven either by the almost competent, or clueless but not aggressive.

I think I live in an area where bad driving is just the norm.

Its still not as bad as Florida. Lots of drivers use their indicators, then do the exact opposite. ???? Maybe someone told them to use the little level when changing lanes or turning roads, but didn't tell them you use it in a different way for a particular direction.

I am unsure why we are suddenly getting threads about BMW's in a Jaguar XK sub forum though. These might be better placed in off Topic.

So you're telling me they are factory installed?

The person who installs indicators in the Audi plant must have the most depressing job knowing they will not be used. At least that's how it feels in the UK - Audi has overtaken BMW as the car of choice for ignorant and bad mannered drivers. It's not doing their brand image too much good.

I had the most gratifying experience the other day. At a busy large intersection, a righteous BMW wants to drive in the wrong lane, into oncoming traffic so that he can turn into this really cheap burger joint- it happened to be my lane and I happened to be in my tank (FJ). Pushed him backwards into the traffic with him screaming the whole time. Left him in the middle of the intersection and turned right.
