I could not find any posts adressing this situation. I was trying to remove my Sirius XM module to obtain the unit number needed to activate the service. I must have taken too long because the back of the top and the tonneau cover both fell on me. Does anyone have any suggestions? 2007 XK. Thank you in advance.
Does the boot open?
Has the tonneau been manually released?
Has the top hydraulic pump been disengaged???
If YES to those, just gently push the tonneau up and then reset the top using the Owner's Handbook.
If Y,N,N, open the boot, release the tonneau and disengage the top Hydraulic pump, then do the above steps.
If the boot does not open..... well, I'd assume the tonneau is loos-ish, so hold that up and try the boot. You have to disengage the Hydraulic Pump to reset the top.

I'll add to what CeeJay said, All of the above steps are all over the forums.
In my case, it took a lot of time and patience; however, I basically followed Cee Jays' advice.
1. The first thing I did was remove the luggage separator and reseat it to make sure was in the proper position.
2. Then, I used my own 4mm hex wrench (there is no need to tear up the interior; any 4mm hex wrench will do) and turned it turn counter counterclockwise. Next, I released the tonneau cover with the cable. In my case, tonneau cover would not move.
3. After waiting overnight, I was able to lift the tonneau cover to the open position. I was then able to fold the top back into the trunk; however, the tonneau cover would not budge to the closed position.
4. The next morning, the tonneau cover was in the proper position on its own. I closed the top’s hydraulic pump but the latches were not secure. There was nothing I could do by myself, as a 74-year-old, get to them to lock.
5. The following morning, I started the car and reset the windows twice, up and down, listening for the clicks. Then it I held top button forwards, and eventually, the top popped up and closed properly, followed by all the windows going through their routine. It turns out the latches do not have to be engaged for the top to properly function.
Again, thanks to everyone here for their assistance.
