Default Now that I've owned two different wind deflectors... comparison

For years I've had a Jag OEM wind deflector for my XKR. Every now and then I would take it out at a car wash and spray it down (which I highly recommend, they get filthy). Last month... it wasn't until a few days after the wash that I realized I'd left it at the car wash.

Whoops.

So I went the Adamesh route for a replacement. Obviously it's significantly less expensive, but I bought my Jag deflector on Ebay, used but mint condition, for the same price. So I'm gonna leave price out of this. After a month, here are some observations:

JAG DEFLECTOR
- very lightweight, but strong.
- finer mesh material. More see-through. This is the best part of it. (The adamesh one feels "dark" in comparison)
- the rear screen "snaps" up into place, which makes folding it up and down when you're in the driver's seat pretty easy.
- the rear (horizontal) half looks like a better fit for the car. (But of course very few people see this).
- the mesh "wraps around" the center bar, so there's no mesh gap.

ADAMESH DEFLECTOR:
- feels sturdier.
- the side posts (don't know what else to call them) that fit into the holes in the sides of the rear seat compartment are MUCH better built. That was a definite weak point of the Jag defector.
- those posts that fit into the rear seatbelt slots work well. The whole thing feels more snug than the Jag unit.
- there is a small "mesh gap" between the horizontal and vertical halves where a little wind gets in. But not much.
- as I said... dark! But I'm getting used to it.

Me? I know forum members love the Adamesh deflector, but-- all things being equal, I'd get another Jaguar one if I had the shot. Of course, "all things being equal" would include PRICE, and it's tough to find a Jag deflector that's competitively priced.
And to its credit, the Adamesh deflector is a really well-made aftermarket part. Impressive (and it really does get to you in two days - from England!). I'm happy with it.

I love my Adamesh deflector.
Top down, deflector folded up. Top up, deflector folded down... No issues with darkness for me.

I bought mine via ‘Just Roadster Ltd’ and would not be without it. It transforms open top driving, worked really well when touring in France last year. Only remove when putting my daughter in the back seat, she is small or petite enough to get in and even I’ve managed that for short journeys when I cannot drive because of the laws re drinking.

I can't speak to the other brands but I have the Mina unit and have had no problems with it. Seems to do the job .

Yeah I drove out to Reseda to their shop and took a look. Also good. My favorite feature was that key, so you can lock it into place so no one can swipe it if you leave the car parked with the top down. Good idea.

But I think the pound is so weak these days that even with the hundred bucks for shipping, the Adamesh was a little cheaper. That was the decider between the two for me.
