Just changed my oil filter (after 6K) very easy except had to go to 4 places for cap wrench tool!

Used a NAPA Gold (WIX) filter; not too happy, smaller dia (-0.2mm) and more important, a much smaller gasket width (-50%) than OEM; will use an OEM next time, if I can find a decent price! Suppose to be $21 but my dealer loves to add $$$'s. Gauldin wants only $15 BUT $15 shipping.

Anyone know why the filter engine housing has fins and two small water hoses? Does Jaguar really heat the oil for start up purposes; that's a new one to me! Just very curious............ideas Guys.

 

I think I answered my own question; it's an oil cooler according to my ALLData
account. When cold warms oil , when hot cools oil...............
AllData picture is 'all' wrong ! Will try to find it on my X150 CD; much harder to navigate than AllData.

 

Bought filter for $19 (with 10% Jag discount) at Jaguar of Tacoma! Pleasant surprise...

Lots of F Types on display (only one Coupe) all S's except one: gorgeous cars.
But still like my 2007 XK Radiance Coupe better ; not as fast, but good enough for an 79 year old, who still likes to changes oil and brake pads, etc.

Seems to me you should not have to pay more than $85-$100 for a Dealer Synthetic oil change.
