Hi, I want to display OBD2 data (water temp and voltage) on my Iphone SE 2nd gen.so what do I need ? a blue tooth reader and an app?
Is Torqe Lite or Pro OK? Is PRO a $4.95 a one time charge or monthly charge?
Could not find Torqe app on my iphone and had to install Google Chrome! a pain, forgot my password, of course.
I'm not too good with my phone! I call it a DOG because it needs so much attention! but it makes my Grandkids laugh...
Would like some help, please.....................vehicle is 2007 XK Coupe (best Jag I have ever owned ;I've had 13)
Does the info NEED to be on a ayephoney? There are other options. That one guy made a snazzy ashtray digital readout, and there is also a CAMP2 to display gauges on your touch screen. Using an Android TV box and a GVIF you can put nearly an entire computer on your touchscreen, although it would need a different input as the actual touch doesn't work.
I went the TVbox and GVIF route and used Torque Pro. I can display pretty much anything, including YouTube and pretty much whatever a tablet can do....
I have a number of different dongles and apps on my iPhone but my go-to tends to be DashCommand because it loads quickly and I can either use if for doing acceleration tests or just monitor ODBC codes or vitals.
The gauges are fully customisable so you can have whatever metrics you want on the dashboard.
I’ve used Dash Command for a very long time but find and app called CarScanner ELM to be much more useful for diagnostics, DTCs, sensor data graphs, and much more. It requires a Bluetooth ELM327 module.
EDIT: the Bluetooth module I use is not longer available, just make certain you research compatibility and reliability. I paid about $40USD

Appears that for iOS it MUST be Bluetooth 4.0 with warnings about avoiding 'Chinese clones' which could be difficult as even the genuine article is likely to be manufactured in China.
I presently keep an Android in the car just for TorquePro but would prefer to use Car Scanner Pro with my iPhone. Anyone know of currently available ELM's which are definitely compatible with iOS and Car Scanner Pro?
It has been very stable and works with Dash Command. It supports iOS. That sites sells a bunch of variants now and is very reputable just get one rates for Apple.
Hi, i used a vgate icar pro WIFI version specifically for iphone use, as that was the only way iphones could connect with it before the bluetooth 4 version came along, worked fine wiv car scanner pro for me, did the one time purchase aswell
After experiencing a thermostat failure I wanted to monitor coolant temperature.
The Vgate iCar Pro BLE 4.0 OBD2 is compact enough to leave plugged (no danger of knocking it with your knee). Car Scanner Pro (iPhone 12) can be configured to connect automatically and open the "dashboard"... just say Hey Siri, open Car Scanner.. it opens the app, connects to the Vgate and loads the gauges in a few seconds!

How has this setup worked for you? I know, old thread, but I'm new to the game here (XFRS) and am exploring ways to display gauges. Thanks!
@Chris77 Also, what other parameters are available to you to monitor? I see coolant temp in your above pics. Is oil temp and/or trans fluid temp available? Thx.
