Default Odd squeal

The old girl is squealing and not in a good way me thinks. Inside the cabin it sounds like it's coming from the dash, but I realize
that it could be originating from anywhere. Ah, but what does it sound like? Well, it's sort of between a squeal and a screech, less
on the screech, but there is a random hint of it. Disappears at a stop, and seems unrelated to engine or RPM as engine speed does not
change it.

It sounds rotational, but the pitch and frequency stays fairly constant once it's a speed. Does not change with road speed.
Only happens when car is moving. I dropped it into neutral at 60 and coasted to 20, which had no effect on the sound, which
stayed relatively constant.

I thought wheel bearing, maybe a spun race, but also thought it would change with wheel speed. I dunno.

Help.

Was your climate system active? Could be a failing blower motor.
Course, some people have reported a hiss-squeak thing from a bad seal on the A/C high pressure line.

It seems unrelated. When idling the car is quiet, with or without the climate system engaged. It only resurfaces when rolling.

Sounds like it’s got to be wheel related. Perhaps a stone stuck between a brake disc/rotor (as they are over there)
and the rotor cover. Or as you say a wheel bearing .

It's the shock mount, which explains why the frequency and speed doesn't change.

cheers

Yep, it's the shock mount. Just WD-40 the top of the mount real good and it will go away. Ask me how I know.....
