Yes, all the dash parts come out using gentle prying with a plastic tool and latex gloves.....be very careful of the centrepiece around the infotainment system.

Jagamadryer,

If you still have her, bring her to Cars & Coffee Virginia Beach typically held the first Saturday of each month at the Virginia Beach Convention Center from 7 to 10 am. You can find more info at FB Cars & Coffee Virginia Beach Lounge.

Default Great upgrade

I performed the same dash upgrade in my 07 XK.
the aluminum trim did not do the car justice.
it was a simple changeover too with maximum visual results.

Thanks. Would look fantastic with a cream leather interior but would be a nightmare to keep clean. Blue was the colour of another car I was looking at before I decided on the XKR. Top of my list was a new Honda civic type R GT in blue. Also looked at a TVR Tuscan, a Porsche 911 and Lotus Evora. Never in my life have I considered a Jaguar, until a dealer suggested it. After loads of reading and research I thought Yeh, its Defoe a contender. I also chose this one as it only has 29000 miles on the clock which is great for a 10 yr old car.

It certainly looks mint. I think they look good in any colour except the Red.

That would be a pain to keep clean but the look would be fantastic. I have an 88’ mustang lx 5.0 convertible with white leather interior. I barely drive it but it still manages to get dirty.
I never considered a Jaguar either but one fell in my lap so I grabbed it. Mine has 106k and I drive it a lot. Regrettably I should have garaged it more but it’s so fun to drive
i am currently looking at Porsche’s. I’m not sure if I’m ready to make that leap yet. Im still building out my 02 mustang gt and the ‘88 still needs some love not to mention my ‘95 bronco
we certainly love our cars don’t we?

Yeh I was looking at a Porsche 911. But for my budget I was looking at a 2008 at best and some of the early 997 variants were still having the IMS bearing issue which apparently plagued the 996, also the potential for bore scoring put me off too. So a Porsche will nave to wait a while I think. Though with this Jaguar, I shouldnt really want for anything else lol

Yeh we certainly love our cars, I still cant believe Ive got a Jaguar, have to pinch myself still. 😁

That’s exactly how I feel about mine. I’ve had her for 3 years now. I drive my other cars now and then but as soon as I get back in my jag I feel like I’m home. Such great cars, I’ve driven lots of high end vehicles and I still the Jag XK series are one of the best over all in its class.

Default 1st of the class for me..

Unfortunately this is the first car of it's kind for me. I traded in my 2017 Mazda MX5 for it. The MX5 is a great car, fun to drive and always put a smile on my face. I'd always wanted one but didn't really fancy the previous 3 marks. Now I've had one I'm happy. Been there done that. Now I'm in a different league with the XKR. It's amazing, everything I want in a supercar. V8, supercharged, and more exclusive than a Porsche. I read someone called it a Aston Martin killer lol. I can see everyone in this forum is passionate about their XKR and its A great place to find information.

Beautiful cars guys. I am a big fan and as soon as I sell my Lexus, I am hoping the 2008 I have found is still there. You guys had any issues? The XKR I am looking at is navy with light cashmere. It's a coupe with chrome wheels and 36k miles. Seems to be perfect but for a little road rash on the front wheels. I read where one guy spent a fortune on a extended warranty and never used it. He bought with 40k and now had over 80k. The 80's & 90's were not kind to Jaguar....scares me a little. I'm old enough to remember. Hope to be on with pics soon.

I only got my car last week so am no expert. But I did do loads of research. If it's 2008 you're looking at, am I correct in saying that'll be the 4.2 litre? From what I've learned, they're pretty much solid from an engine point of view.
I've looked at extra warranty for when my dealer one runs out but I've decided against it. I'm not sure how they are where you're from, but here in the UK they're expensive and they have loads of exclusions. Some so much so that it's pointless having them. Even one part can become void if it's affected by another part that isn't oem. I'd imagine for a Jaguar also, you'd be paying a premium because of the expense of fixing jags. Personally I'll be putting aside some money each month for the repair fund instead of paying into a expensive warranty, should the situation arise. Good luck in getting the car you want. I'm absolutely blown away with mine 😊

Yes, 4.2 liter! After my research, i decided against the 5.0. I would love the extra HP but the potential problems seems greater on the 5.0. What color Blue is that?? We don't see that many of that color in the US. Beautiful car!
