Yes, it does look nice. There have been some very nice Jag XK and XKR's offered on eBay, and many especially with low mileage. That is one plus about the Jags that I discovered in my research, many have the low miles on them. I watch the secondary market every day, just to see what's out there in the marketplace.

I strongly feel that the used/secondary market offers many potential Jaguar buyers to get into the brand for an affordable price. It happened to me, and I certainly could not be happier with my XKR. It's one awesome car.

Of course, I have to admit, it was the F-Type that really got me initially interested in the brand, that brought me into the XK/XKR series.

Default hidden damage or flood damage on ebay

Is anyone concerned about buying a car with flood damage, especially if buying on ebay?

I started to make a long post on this, but decided to start a new thread, so other readers will not miss it. Titled it:

dangers of purchasing on ebay and other places

Sorry, but I disagree.
I have purchased MANY cars on eBay and never had any problems...
Don't see what eBay has to do with flood cars.
Its common sense to due your due diligence, no matter
where you buy a car.
I have had many more problems buying from dealers, they seem to be much more
dis-honest, and are experts about hiding problems with a car.
The program I saw on TV showed most of those cars were sold by dealers in Kentucky. and Tennessee.

Sorry to say, but the dangers of buying a car on eBay are no worse than buying from a nice old lady in your home town. Carfax is not bulletproof, and neither is a local sale - or a "reputable" dealer for that matter. People like to keep accident & flood damage off the records, especially if the car has a high resale value. If they can clean up the car just well enough, at a cost less than the value lost to an insurance claim, they will indeed fix it quietly & pass it off as a clean car.

I do my homework on a car, inspect it closely, but in the end it really is a leap of faith.

Yep, very common for other websites to automatically pull cars from the eBay website,
and list them on there own website to promote their advertising. You have not seen that before??

847 Area code is the North Shore suburban area of Chicago. Could be a mobile number. I use a downtown Chicago mobile number but live in Pacific Palisades CA because I like the Chicago number and cannot get a similar number in my local area code.

I have purchased two cars on eBay, sort of. In each case, I noticed a car I liked on eBay, tracked it as bidders fell short of its reserve, contacted the seller after the auction closed, then arranged for independent inspections in the cities in which the cars were located, then had the sellers ship the cars to me.

Both have been positive experiences as a whole.

I didn't notice that the car's details list a different phone number than the "dealership" phone number, which is a 203 number.

The dealership claims to be in Los Angeles, and if you're running a business you wouldn't use two out of the area phone numbers. I've kept out of area numbers for personal reasons... but a business? And two? The site is a scam for sure!
