Default Opinion of Aftermarket Evaporator.

I need an Evaporator for my 2011 XK. Jaguar Price is 1150.00 to 1550.00 USD. Auto Zone sells a Four Season brand Evaporator for 130.00 USD. Total estimated cost with installation from Jaguar is 5500.00 USD including the Jaguar OEM expansion valve for 338.00. A local shop will do it for 3400.00 USD. Auto zone sell a Nissen expansion valve, which I believe is OEM, for about 22.00 USD. Four Season brand Evaporator has good reviews but I’m concerned about quality and longevity. My question is, Has anyone used these products before or if not, would you recommend going with the aftermarket or spend so much more for the Jaguar OEM?
Thanks for you consideration and opinion.
Bill

Did you try cross referencing for an OEM Ford part? They are always much cheaper through the Ford system, even at retail outlets. Someone else may know already about this, not me though.

It doesn’t appear that there is a Ford part number for my 2011 XK.
Thanks for the reply.

I think what was meant was “is there a fomoco stamp and number” on the evaporator?

usually those parts guys are pretty good. Measure it up and give the parts counter the dimensions..

The evaporator has not been removed yet.

Get the jaguar part number and search online for pictures - see if you can get the WERS number e.g. 9w83-xxx that's what Ford would use. If its C2P8713 then it might be a shared part with the FType and maybe LandRover see LR066093

Thank you for your response. The repair shop has informed me that they will not warranty aftermarket parts. I’ve decided to bite the bullet and get the very high priced Jaguar OEM Evaporator.
I appreciate your response and apologize for wasting your time.
