Take it to a paint correction place, that should be no problem at all. I got mine done, 2-step and sealant for $300, got rid of all scratches and looks like brand new.

Glad you found a solution. I did not suggest polishing because you said you had already tried multiple polishes. I didn't know you were polishing by hand!

Good luck.

GGG, no, I was serious. It it was a wind up I would have suggested rubbing it with his *******. Those oils are awesome for getting any kind of adhesive or residue off paint or glass.

I had the spoiler detach from my '12 XF and I had to get a mass of double sided sticky residue off the car and spoiler before reattaching. After trying a number of things I resorted to eucalyptus which is always good for that kind of thing, you put it on and leave it for a few minutes then everything wipes off, it worked perfectly. And cleared my sinuses!

I use it often.

Believe it or not, try washing the affected area with hot water and washing up liquid or car soap.

Bucket and microfiber cloth.

The intent is to remove any accumulated layers of polish that have been scratched.

The "paint swirls" on my car were much improved after this treatment. It seems they were
more likely swirls in the old wax which the new was could not mask.

Have spent over an hour now watching car paint videos on YouTube and can't see any stain like i have. As tomorrow is Sunday the only shop open that has polishing compound, so will give this stuff a go.

That is what I use on my XKR and have had no issue with it. You will need to top it off with polish though once you have got the mark off.

Yes...here is a photo of the two 3M polishes I use most often - always by hand.
The bottle on the left is the "Rubbing Compound" - but it is liquid - and the one on the right is the swirl remover. #M often changes the packaging and sometimes even the name of the products but the number on the bottle can be cross referenced.
Yesterday our Jaguar Club had a "shop tour" to a restoration shop here in Victoria; I looked at the absolutely flawless paint finish on an E-type - an almost blinding mirror finish - and I asked the painter what polishing system they use: the answer: "3M, always".

Plain & simple......Meguiars M205......hand rubbed on.......buffed off with Microfiber cloth.

Buy a small bottle........8 oz. under $10.00 US This product may be easier to find then the 3M product.

Take SOV211's advise 1st. He knows his stuff very well, when it comes to restoration procedures and products.

Well the Meguiars didn't work or washing up liquid. Sov211 i'm still sourcing the 3M. The car is in tomorrow for transmission filter/oil change and rear diff oil change. I'm also getting the upgrade 2.5lb pulley and remap done. The guy doing the work might know a body shop can work some magic. Spraying, i don't want to do.

Sorry to hear the Meguiars didn't work. There must be some real contaminents on the paint surface that adhered to the clear coat really well.

Ronson lighter fluid works very well at removing adhesives and does not harm paint.

It looks like the clear coat is cloudy but I can't understand the pattern. After all you have tried I guess I would go to a good auto body or detailer who would color sand the area. If that doesn't correct it then you would need a respray. My 2 cents here.
